For safety, think cordless. The size and shape of your windows will also make a difference.

How to Measure and Install Your Blinds

How To
Measure for Blinds

Inside Mount

Fits inside the window frame for a neat, clean look.

  1. Measure in three places for width – top, middle and bottom. Then again for height – left, middle and right.
  2. Make note for the narrowest width and longest height. Measure window depth to make sure you have enough room.

Outside Mount

Goes on the wall or molding above the window, blocking most unwanted light.

  1. You’ll need at least 2 inches above the frame for mounting brackets.
  2. Measure the overall area to be covered. Add an extra 3 inches to the width and height for ideal light and privacy control.
