We have a 120 lb pit bull that is very active. We used this system with an existing fence in our back yard. He had a very bad digging problem and would always get out of the yard. We have had this product for three months now and he has not tried to dig out once. We did training for a few days as suggested by the manufacturer and it worked great. I believe he was only “corrected” two times before he got it. This product has even been through multiple rain storms and freezing and it has not malfunctioned once. I especially liked that you can set this system up many different ways, leave areas where there is no correction so our dog could get back into the house as well as adjust the correction zone as he approaches the wire. I am very pleased with this product!

This system's radio signal is not consistent, one day it zaps 3' away from the wire, the next day it zaps right on top of the wire. Made adjustments several times and no luck. Also, not enough of a shock for medium to large dogs. My dog sits on right next to the wire, receives a constant shock and it doesn't bother him enough to move. Hard to train your dog when the radio signal changes it's perimeter constantly. Invest in a better system. Maybe for small dogs it's o.k.

After reading the good reviews for this product, I purchased it for our 8 month old Bull Terrier who was going under and over the fence. My first red flag was when a company was here at our property doing some work, and the employee saw the package sitting on our kitchen counter. He told us he had bought the same item, and his dog still was going over the fence. I was hoping his dog was just one in a million, but sadly no. The system didn't help our problem dog either. After installing the fence system, she would be wearing her shock collar and get shocked by the fence, but instead of moving away from the fence, she would just sit there and scratch at the collar and keep being shocked. I think if the shock had been a little stronger, the outcome would had been different.Today, she went over the fence again into the neighbor's property. This fence was of no deterrant for her. I wish it had the feature I had noticed on other fencing where you could increase the voltage of the shock if the voltage you were using wasn't working. This set doesn't have that.
No, I do not recommend this product.

Simple to install with a sod shovel and paint stick,

This product is so simple to install that just about anyone could do it. We used the edger attachment on our yard trimmer, but a sod shovel to break the grass would've been enough. I ran the edger across about 100' at a time, and pushed the wire about 1-2" under the grass with a paint stick, all around our yard, about 800 feet. Installing the controller is as simple as putting it on the wall next to an outlet, plugging in the wires to speaker-jack type connectors, and plugging it in. Our 7 month old sato was trained to move away from the flags within a day. 3 weeks into having the system and she hasn't crossed it in 2.5 weeks. We removed the flags yesterday and she is aware of her physical boundary. Highly reccommend this product to anyone looking to save the $700-800 for other brand's installation fees.
Yes, I recommend this product.

We have had the fence for about 3 years now.We have 2 Boxers.I don't know what we would do without this fence. The dogs had no problems learning the boundry. It was easy to install. Not only is that a good reason to buy this product, but the customer service is excellent. The transmitter went out after about a year and we called to order another one. They replaced it for free with no shipping and we used the same box to return the old one with return shipping pre paid. Now have you had customer service like that in awhile.I think not.Of course we will be customers for life because of that.We had to up grade to the bigger collar as our dogs grew to about 80lbs.Went straight to Home Depot to purchase them.Yes,we are very happy with Pet Safe.

We have had this system for about 5 years and could not be more pleased. Our lab puppy was very easy to train at about 8 months old and picked up the idea immediately. The collar sounds a slow tick as he approaches the line & he immediatly jumps back. He has probably only been shocked 2-3 total, even in the early training. Give your dog some time to get used to the idea. Even though we have several acres, initially he just sat in the center of the yard since he didn't undestand where the shock was coming from. Only took a few days though to get the hang of it. The real reason I am writing this review is to rave about the customer service. We have had 2 minor issues with our fence in 5 years and have called customer service. It is outstanding. Replacment parts were sent out the same day. We just had lightening kill our box and called to diagnose and purchase a new one. We found out it has a 10 year limited warranty so we were only charged $30 (no shipping)for the box, though actual price is much higher. It was also very easy to install. I did it myself over the weekend and was able to hook it up with absolutely NO electrical know-how. I can't say enough good about product and service.
Yes, I recommend this product.

This system proved to be a wonderful investment. Our dog always had to be on a leash since we live in a large community. He is now able to freely roam about and run in his own yard without a leash.
I know the product says "10 days to trian your pet", but either my dog is a genious or this system is set-up in a manner that is easy for a dog to process. Literally after two days he knew what his boundaries were. Just follow the training instructions!
The beeping on the colar alarmed my dog before he got near the fence and he has not been shocked expect during training, where we introduced him to the boundary.
The system was easy to install and the directions easy to follow.
For the price we paid we feel we have made a great investment! I would definitely recommend this system to anyone.

In-ground Radio Fence Pet Containment System,

This is the 3rd system I have purchased for my dogs. This system works great and is so much cheaper than enclosing the yard with a big bulky fence. The ticking on the collar is all it takes to warn the dogs. They stop immediately before they ever get shocked so it is not a cruel way to train them.
The only problem is, make sure you put the box in some type of enclosed place so it doesn't get ruined by weather like mine did.
Yes, I recommend this product.
