A Note From The Home Depot
For most people, wreaths are synonymous with the holidays, but they’re great decoration all year round! DIY blogger Ashleigh Lauren, has the scoop on this popular Pinterest trend and how you can create it yourself with some help from The Home Depot.
Steps
Who's ready to learn how to create this quick summer wreath?! The first thing I did was lay mytobacco basketon top of the plywoodand trace it out. I did this since tobacco baskets can be irregularly shaped, and I wanted to ensure I had the perfect fit.
After I traced out my semi-circle, I then took the plywood outside and cut it out using myjig saw.
After I attached the plywood, I took some sisal rope and added that to the front. I used myglue gunto hide the edges of the wood.
Then, I attached a plastic bag to the inside of the wreath to hold the soil that I will be adding to house my plants.
The next thing I did was add the soil. You can poke tiny holes in the bag so water can drain out when watering your plants.
Now comes the fun part! I began to add my plants to my wreath. You can add plants, flowers or succulents. You can also add different elements to your wreath including, ribbons, bows, beads or even a sign!
That’s it! I love how simple this wreath turned out. It has just the right amount of character, and is perfect for summertime. Good luck!
