THIS PRODUCT HAS A GREAT COLOR AND IS EASY TO MIX. REALLY EASY TO CLEAN EXCESS GROUT OF TILES WITHOUT SMEARING.

I purchased this grout as part of a major remodel of our master bathroom. The day the grout was installed, it had a horrible "sewer-gas" odor that permeated the entire room and adjoining bedroom. We had no idea where it was coming from so my contractor hired a plumber w/fiber optic cameras to snake all our vent and drain pipes, finding nothing. The smell seemed to be coming from the tile floors and shower, not one specific place like a drain. We still had over half a bag of this grout in the garage, along with two bags (same brand - different color). Once we put our noses to the Haystack sanded grout, we immediately knew that was the cause of the odor. Even the dry grout mix smells horrible (like rotten eggs). After researching online, I found a discussion thread about this grout color from CBP (polyblend sanded grout - haystack) and others have had the same issue. I called CBP customer service today and was told to try cleaning the tile/grout with hydrogen peroxide. The discussion thread online had people posting who had tried that solution and it failed. Over a month and a half later, they still had the odor problem. It's been 3 weeks now and the odor is still so strong, we are unable to use our newly remodeled bathroom. I have left a message for a customer service manager at CBP to escalate this issue. If this odor fails to dissipate completely, my expectation is that CBP or The Home Depot reimburses the cost of removing the grout and replacing it with grout that does NOT have a "rotten egg" smell.

It looks nice, but the final color after drying is a lot lighter than I expected.

Product looks good installed. It was recommended that I use sanded grout but went with non sanded as I have glass tile and remember reading that the sanded grout can scratch the tile. I wish I would have tried the sanded as the non sanded is not as easy to apply and tends to get lots of air pockets. The brand is great but will stick with sanded from now on.

The grout was easy to use and filled in nicely. The color matched the color on the package.

Grout spread easily and wiped up quickly even on white tile. Did appear a little darker on application then expected. But looks good.

The non-sanded grout is ideal for bathroom tile because it isn't gritty and is easier to keep clean because of the smooth texture. I am really glad that I can find what I want online if I can't get it at my local Home Depot store.

What is their to say - it's grout not a smart phone. Grout is a mixture of sand, cement, coloring and binding agents. Not a very high tech product. It has at least a 30 minute working time, is easy to mix with a 3/8" variable speed electric drill and paddle mixer. I prefer a Black foam rubber trowel for application. The 25 lb. bag easily does a standard 5' tiled shower surround with 1/8" - 1/4" grout lines. I find that in a dry climate like Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico, etc. you can start removing the excess in as little as 10 minutes after application using a good grout sponge. Wait another 20 - 30 minutes and then go over the joints again correcting any defects, high or low spots and smooth out the surface. Wait another 1-2 hour and then start a very light cleaning of the surface haze. Rinse the sponge frequently. Allow the grout to cure [grout cures-paint dries] overnight and then do a final cleaning and buff the tile clean. DON'T forget to seal the grout after about 5 days. Use at least 2 coats of grout sealer. It is good stuff and would have given it 5 stars if it had been delivered for free, LOL It is a good recognized national brand.

This unsanded grout is a little hard to work with, but it looks very nice once its done. It had to be used on this tile. It dried a little darker than the color, but worked out great.

This product was easy to use and a nice value for a small job. I had to repair four broken tiles (12x12) and after cleaning the grout lines I was worried that I wouldn't be able to match the previous grout. When I did the job three years ago, I bought the big bag and mixed it myself. I was surprised that the premixed matched really well. The small amount saved me money and the mess of storing and excess if I had to but the big bag.

Cutting corners by not using clear or white sand in the mixture!!!!!!! Too competive a market?????? YOU can see the beige slightly....hey even pool plaster is white sand!!!

This grout turned white after one wash with a slightly damp sponge and wiped clean with dry rags. First time this has ever happened to me with a colored grout. Very unhappy with results after all the work of tearing out my old shower and rebuilding it from scratch.

This was ordered to use with a wood grain tile. I ordered the dark brown, as shown in the photo. However, the photo depicts the WET color. When the grout dries, it appears almost white. Had I know this, I would have ordered a MUCH darker color grout to achieve the look I was going for. As for ease of use - I had a contractor do the work, but he said it went on easily.

it was good to find the same color I used 8 years ago. It is no longer in the store, but I found it online. Polyblend always works well.

we liked the grout, it did seem a bit lighter than the color on the bag but once we put the sealer on it seemed to darken a little more. It looked closer to the color on bag when it was still wet. Over all it did what it's suppose to and looks good.

Spend thousands remodeling kitchen and installing mosaic tile backsplash and it was ruined by a $13 grout. Manufacture says to use sulfamic acid but from the other reviews, it doesn't sound like it will help. I wish I could return the entire kitchen and get my money back from Home Depot for selling this product.

Overall Custom has some great products. I have used many of them over the years. I have used a few different grout colors and all of them have cured to a lighter shade than expected. I have learned now because of this to choose a slightly darker tint to begin with so when cured it will be closer to what you actually were shooting for.

This is an addition to a house that used this color of grout about 12 years ago. The grout was no longer carried in our local Home Depot so I found it online. The color was an excellent match and the grout was perfect. I would recommend it to others. \

When using this grout product POLYBLEND Sanded Grout please read instructions on using with porcelain tile. Problems could occur with EFFLORESCENCE drying causing a gray-white surface color. See Tech Bulletin TB21 on www.custombuildingproducts .com
