The Bethesda, Md., Home Depot Store (#2509), is the best 'managed' Home Depot I have ever shopped in. I've been to Home Depot stores all over the world, therefore I have an expansive perspective. I also have more than 3-decades of Senior Management experience. Yesterday for example, the Store Manager was standing inside the main store entrance, assisting customers, greeting customers, etc. The mere fact that he was (a) making himself visible & (b) helping shoppers is quite remarkable.
Positive Feedback for Two Employees, Maria Ramirez & Jose:
1) Customer Service Rep. Maria Ramirez, helpful, professional, conducted transaction efficiently & correctly. Helped me locate 'hard to find' items. Great Service & strong sense of pride in her work and professionalism.
2) Cashier Jose, efficiently and correctly performed check-out transaction despite upc price code label being somewhat illegible due to damage.
3) Yesterday, Saturday Feb, 5, 2017, Store Manager, Orrin Burkett (sp?). While I did not personally interact with him, I did have ample opportunity to observe the store manager as he assisted customer after customer. Rather than being 'invisible' and hiding in his office, this is a 'hands on' manager who not only makes his presence known but actually performs a valuable function. This gentleman obviously runs a tight ship, and good leadership starts from the top down. What I observed is a perfect example of intelligent management. This is a store that is very well managed and operated. While its inventory is less than that of other larger Home Depot Stores, i.e.: items I wish to purchase occasionally are not in stock; it is still my 'go to' store when I need to shop at a Home Depot, and I have the option of shopping at multiple Home Depot stores. Overall, a good store, with obviously strong management and some standout employees such as those noted above.
