Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bob Great Selection Perfect for Pros
HOME DEPOT Costa Mesa has better selection than any other store. I only shop Home Depot for my business and at home projects. Big or small Home Depot has what you need for any job.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Summer Excellent Customer Service
This Home Depot location has great customer service, and I've found that they are more likely than many of the other stores to have the materials I need in stock.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JoS A Frustrating and Unduly Time Consuming Experience
Halfway through our shopping a store associate apparently took our cart, thinking that it was the restocking cart right beside ours (and my husband was still in the aisle). A suggestion would be to ask "hey, is this anyone's cart?" We combed the store to see if another customer accidentally took it, but it was nowhere to be found. So we started over.
We then needed wire cut. Over the course of 30 minutes, we asked no fewer than 7 people with orange aprons to help. Five said they would get help. This resulted in one announcement over the PA asking someone to help in aisle 6. One staff member speculated that everyone who knew how to cut wire was in a meeting. Finally, a very nice and apologetic woman excused herself from whatever meeting was being conducted to help us. Why would a manager schedule a meeting and leave an entire section without staff that can cut wire? By the time help arrived, there were multiple customers waiting.
The check-out experience was also a turn off. The sales associate asked what fun thing we were going to do after visiting the store (notwithstanding our cart was full of work items--chiefly irrigation materials). We apologized for not being cheerful and explained that we were having a frustrating day. He then told us that it couldn't have been as terrible as his mother losing her mother to cancer at a young age. The message: if we didn't play along with his inquiry and tell him what he wanted to hear, he wasn't interested in our frustrating customer service experience. The implication is we were clearly whiners.
Finally, there were lots of people in orange aprons near the checkout stand and in the parking lot. The store seems overstaffed outside and understaffed inside. It appears management at this store has no regard for Home Depot's customers' time.
