I was in the self check out line at The Home Depot this morning. I had a cart with a mum in it and two bags of garden soil on the bottom on the cart. A lady employee was standing around in the front. She came over with her scanner and as she was leaning down to scan the bags. I said "There's two". She says "I'm not stupid, I know how to count to two". I told her I was just trying to be helpful. I kinda thought she was just kidding around. She says I'm condescending, that all you people who say that are so condescending and that we have no idea how ignorant we are. There were other customers behind me. I tell her she's rude and to leave me alone. I was at a self checkout. Nobody asked her to come over and interfere with my transaction to begin with. She says again "you think I don't know how to count to two? " I wanted her to go away and be quiet.
I finished my transaction, I had to walk past her to leave the store and she smirks and says, "Bye bye honey." I dumped my stuff in the van and went back in the store to get her name. She was talking to the other lady who was watching the whole thing, and when the other lady saw me, she started saying "no, no, no, stop, stop!" I looked at her shirt and she proudly stuck out her chest so I could see her name. Terry seemed so proud of herself. I have bought every appliance, every carpet, every window, leaf guards, etc, etc, from Home Depot forever, Never again. I'm done with their incompetence and rudeness.
The employees in the carpet department are also rude and gave bad information on my last installation. P Then they acted like it was my fault. I already have another carpet installation set up for next week, only because Lowes does not carry the same carpet I need installed to match the rest of the house, and after that, I will never purchase from Home Depot again.
