I needed help fixing roof gutters and had no idea what I needed or how to do it. I was shown the items to fix this problem and more importantly how to do it. Home Depot is the best home improvement store in this area.

I frequent this store because it is the nearest to my home. The cashiers are always cordial when they take your money. If you need help in the aisle then you'd best have your running shoes on and be reasonably fit in order to capture a store employee. They seem to always turn their back and move rapidly into the distance when approached. If I do catch an orange apron in the aisle, odds are pretty good that my question will be answered with a point into a general direction. It's rare that an employee will randomly ask if I need help. I use the Home Depot smart phone app for locating items that I can't readily find. If that doesn't work, i usually just move on to another store with a different color scheme. I also avoid the customer service counter. It makes me feel like I must be invisible. During the recent holiday season I had a power tool shipped to store rather than to my home. That's the season that thieves shadow delivery trucks and do their shopping off of front porches. It took about 45 minutes to pick up my item at the customer service counter. There were an average of five people behind the counter during that time frame. I saw a total of nine different employees behind the customer service counter while I waited. They seemed to drift in and out but only 1-2 customers were being served at a time. I understand that sometimes it get busy but, to me, two things should be common practice. First, acknowledge those who are patiently waiting. Second, acknowledge their patience for the inconvenience of waiting when you finally serve them. Employees should NEVER outnumber customers by a two or three to one ratio while customers are waiting.
