We used to visit HOME DEPOT and were very loyal to them - however, a couple of years ago, while doing a major remodel, our deliveries were damaged and totally sized wrong when executed at the factory (not Home Depot fault).
We are remodeling another section of the house and used another major box company who really messed up our shutter order. So we went back to Home Depot and met Lynn Finch. WOW, what a different experience from a year ago. The staff is much more educated and associates are not "just people grabbed off the street" to work here now.
And at the check out we had a great experience with MALAMA, a sweet local girl who had so much ALOHA - such a pleasant person - refreshing nowadays where people don't care. She was so nice helping during the "self check out process" that when she asked us about opening a credit account we said "yes" which we often refuse to other retail stores - but because she was so kind, we did it.
The procedure, however was so difficult (not her fault - we had to talk to someone on the phone by the name of CAMERON who had to ask us so many questions and read off so many disclaimers) but she remained calm, apologetic. If it were not for her demeanor, we would have said, "never mind - cancel this) but because of her engaging personality, we stayed the course till the end.
Malama is a rare breed of young people who treat seniors with respect - like a father or mother would appreciate - rare nowadays with kids.
Because of this wonderful experience with Lynn and Malama we will begin shopping at Home Depot again.
