I was helped in the Roanoke Home Depot by Chris today. Chris works in the countertop area. He is a fantastic asset to this store as your "go to" guy if you are looking for: " What does home depot offer" " How will this work with the project or products I have in mind?" and " How can I maybe finance this?". I was extremely pleased with the pleasance of my experience today and the level of service I received. I am a loyal Lowe's customer- card-carrying in fact. I came to Home Depot b/c of the lack of variety Lowe's offered for bathroom vanities. So, if Home Depot is looking to strive for direct competition with Lowe's, as Lowe's also is doing, great job. I was also greeted as soon as I walked in the door by a very helpful and friendly lady who was also very pleasant and really about respecting my time and getting me directed to where I needed to be and even paging for help for when I arrived at this department. This is invaluable when you have kids in school that you have to meet at the bus stop every day! One more thing, I have to add, that really adds to the overall experience. I know that a lot of Americans are all about their phones and what they can do and all through there. I do not have nor do I want to have a phone to keep up with; my husband and I are mindful of finances and are actually saving for a barn re-build so our daughter can have a horse. I do not want to spend money and time on a phone when I can spend it outdoors. So I was dubious about what kind of customer service I might receive and how much help I could have with customizing a countertop, realizing I might be expected to do this "on-line" through my home computer, and I really needed help, with the financing and the set-up/layout of my countertop for this bathroom I have worked really hard on to prepare for this stage in the project. I have been "spammed" on-line and I wanted a financially secure way to accomplish this order. Home depot delivered, and it gives you a good feeling that there are still places you can go in the good US of A for real customer service- it is not dead!
