The manager at The Plant Home Depot in San Jose was extremely kind and thoughtful, along with his wonderful assistant, Jimmy, as these two men went above and beyond the call of duty to ensure that I was completely satisfied with the shelving unit I purchased and put together for my 95 year old mother. At times I've been unhappy with the customer service at Home Depot, but these two men restored my faith in customer service relations by ensuring that the shelving unit I purchased was put together correctly to ensure that mother would be able to use it safely. I'm so very grateful to the these two men and to Home Depot and would highly recommend this store.

I was looking for a window AC unit mount and had looked through the entire store but could not find it so I went to customer service for assistance. There were three girls at customer service, when I asked them where I could find the mount each girl looked at me like I had a third eye. A guy showed up and they asked him if he knew if they carried the item I was looking for, he too did not know what I was talking about and that they probably didn't carry such a thing. I was then told to check the website to see if the carried the item and when I showed him he had no idea what aisle the seasonal aisle. He then asked another employee who had walked up if she knew where the seasonal aisle was and she rudely pointed to the direction of the aisle and told me it was "probably over there" and dismissed me. Eventually I found the window mount I was looking for on my own

Staff was very nice but when we went to search for the screws they weren't organized and we had to look in each box to find 4 matched.

I came into the store about 15 minutes before closing (Yes, I was one of THOSE people). I needed to pick up some wood for laser cutting. It's more cost efficient for me to get a 4' by 8' piece and have it cut up to a bunch of smaller pieces. I had no idea what kind of wood I should get. One of the staffers, Ric approached me to see if I needed help, which I totally did. He went through the different wood options for me and made sure I got the best value. Once I picked what I wanted, he sliced the piece accurately and quickly. He stayed much longer beyond closing time, but I never felt rush to make my purchase.

The blossom hill store is closer but I will drive to this store because it's better. The store is nicer and the employees are willing to help. They are more knowledgeable too.

I came in to process a return for a few items that I purchased. As I approach the cashier "Melina," I informed her I needed to process a return. She asked if there was anything wrong with the items and then started to process the transaction. While I waited in line, Melina was having a personal conversation with her co-worker "Jesenia." The entire time I was left aside while they had their conversation and I waited for my return. Then she asked: "do you want cash or credit?" I said "cash" and there goes my transaction. There was no willingness to help or understand if maybe they can help me find the correct size for the merchandise I returned. I was the one that ended the transaction by saying "thank you" and then I walked away. I am usually extremely patient and I don't write reviews. I felt the need to write a review because the service was unacceptable.

Wow. Don't expect this kind of service at a big box. Special call out to James & Roberto in tile/flooring area and Taylor in parking lot. All of them Proactively helped us with finding product, checking inventory at other stores, brand recommendations and speedy checkout. And after we finished loading and were figuring out where to put our flat cart Taylor came up and offered to put it away. While I don't know if I just caught them on a great day it felt like a high end service standard. Plus the store is huge and has lots more selection than our usual HD. I will be back!!
