This review is in regards to the third party delivery service that Home Depot contracts out and sets up for you when you purchase appliances. This third party brings a very bad name to Home Depot and they use the Home Depot name when you call them, although they are not Home Depot. I purchased two pedestals for my LG washer and Dryer. I asked the associate if they delivered and if they would install it, he said yes and there is a $69 charge. The associate told me to check the pedestals over and to refuse them if there was any damage, as it has been a trend. The delivery should up and sure enough one of them was crushed on the side. The other was good. They came into the laundry room and asked how long I had the washer and dryer. I told them a few months and the delivery guys said that won't install them unless the washer and dryer are brand new. I informed them that was not was told to me at the store and the reply was "we don't work for home depot and that is our policy." Now, I wouldn't have paid the $69 charge if this was the case. I asked if they aren't Home Depot then where did the pedestal come from. They went direct to LG warehouse and that's where they got it, so I asked if the box was damaged when they picked it up, they said no, which means they damaged it between point A to B. He said since they won't install it, what I wanted with the good one and then they just left it in the garage. To replace the damaged one it took 4 days for them to call me and instead of asking when is an acceptable delivery date, they just assigned one for a Thursday between 9 and 1 pm. Now most people have jobs that just can't take off a second day for delivery. I called them and said I am working that day and need to reschedule. I can do a MOnday, which the lady replied the delivery company doesn't deliver on Monday's. I asked for a Tuesday 9 days away, was told that wasn't possible. They wouldn't deliver on the weekend. At this point I informed them that they damaged a piece of equipment, they have to work with me to either deliver after 6 pm (was told my location was morning deliveries) or meet those days. The lady said there is nothing they could for me and hung up. After that I went to Home Depot to cancel the order and get a refund for the pedestal that wasn't delivered. I just purchased a new home and have made a little over $6800 worth of purchases over the last 3 weeks. At this point I was going to return every item I have purchased from Home Depot and go to Lowes. Once I talked to the customer service reps, April and Marissa, explained what had happen and there genuine concern, I held off returning everything and we are waiting for the pedestal to be delivered to the store and Home Depot will come deliver it. From my experience, I would highly recommend this Home Depot location and the associates are a pleasure to work with. I would not purchase any appliances that need to be delivered from their third party delivery group. You can find a competitor that will use their own employees to deliver so there is some sort of accountability and quality control.
