The alternative method requires a second trip to the store, plus an extra $15 fee called the pallet fee. They will load the whole bag into the truck, then when we are done using shovels to remove all the gravel- we bring back the empty bag to the store and get the $15 deposit back. Using 22 bags at 50lbs would be easier, probably, however it would also cost you (assuming your $4 price per bag) $88. To me, I'll take the bag in the truck over spending all of that extra money. The easiest way to remove it would be taking shovels, I'd assume spade instead of flat, and manually dumping the rock out onto a wheel barrow- the cost of which might still be saved over spending the $88 for the bags of rock. Answer:
Thank you for your recent inquiry with The Home Depot, Jaxon. 3/4" is considered to be a bit too big to be used as a paver base, it does not compact as well as smaller gravel. We appreciate your business and look forward to serving you in the future. Thank you for shopping Home Depot.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by gravel This is a convenient way to get gravel for medium sized project. The problem is that the color from one bag to the next can vary substantially. Sometimes they have mixed color material and other times its uniform grey. $15 bag deposit is a good option, or they can dump it in your truck. Also check stock in your store, some don't carry these bags... El Cajon CA, for instance. August 7, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great price and easy pick up Made a 18' x 22' pad for pre made garage I just bought. Being able to get the sand and gravel in large totes then dumped into my truck made my life a little easier. Gravel size and color was very consistent and once in the truck just backed up to pad and shoveled out. The 20" vibrating plate I rented was great as well, like new. September 8, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by aggregate I's a bag of rocks, pretty amazing because no two are identical. I checked. May 19, 2013
