Rated 4 out of 5Â by Paul Inexpensive Birch for less demanding projects
These Birch Project Panels ARE very cost effective. One side (the "good" side) is very-very nice clear-grain birch, and Home Depot's price is fabulously good. I used forty panels to finish the ceiling of my loft (see photo). Genuine Birch for little more than cheap chipboard.
But there is a UPC sticker on the "GOOD" side of the panel. The stickers do not peel off; paint thinner leaves a rubber-glue residue.
Appearance-grade plywood should be marked on the BACK (less-good) side. Stickering the Good side is very rude. The plywood factory worked hard to give us a fine face, and this UPC sticker and rubbery-glue spoils it.
With the excellent price comes a tradeoff. The face veneer is very-very thin. Water-based finish makes it ripple, and the ripple may not flatten-out when dry. Also because it is so thin, you can't sand-out imperfections.
If you need "perfect" panels for fine cabinetry, go for Home Depot's higher price birch panels. If you don't mind some blemishes, this is great stuff at a great price.

I bought this to use as corn hole boards. It worked perfectly, and actually thought it was a pretty good deal. saved me cutting. Quality was good, no issues there. Boards turned out great. I just purchased another 4 pack today.

Rated 4 out of 5Â by BobL Nice panels for those small projects
I was impressed with the quality of the surface of these panels and their exact dimensions. The only fault I could find would be how thin the veneer was in places so you had to use caution in cutting and fitting. Sure beats having to deal with a 4X8 sheet of plywood.

Rated 3 out of 5Â by HalC I purchase (2) packages of product. The order was received within the promised time.
The materials received are not of the best grade. Some surface finishes are rippled and seems that there is separation of the laminates. So much for purchasing sight unseen.
