This product failed after one season, costing me about $600 before I figured it out. The part failed, and before I knew it, I had two $350 water bills before I turned off that water zone. What happened was, the top blew off, and it was spewing water 30" below ground level. (Neighbors' trees found the underground oasis and loved it; my budget hated it.) The pressure in that zone is ~70 PSI, so that wasn't the issue. Anyway, I guess I got a lemon. But that $600 would've paid a portion of a nice vacation. That's my story. That's why just the one star.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Installed 4 of these. At least 2 of them stuck open after two watering seasons. I like the idea of what they do, but (at least) 2 out of 4 are stuck open after just two years. So I'm digging down to them and will likely replace them with a manual valve.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What can I say? Am I required to review every minute part I order? The email requests for this review never stop, so here goes. I put this valve on my sprinkler pipe and buried it. That was the last I saw of it. I assume it's working, but I won't know for sure until next spring.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Must Have Item For Cold Weather Areas An auto-drain is by far the most important item to install at the lowest point of any PVC line, especially sprinkler lines. It removes whatever water is in the pipe once the pressure goes away, so if it freezes unexpectedly, you will not have to worry about broken PVC lines. I use these on my main water lines for the house so when I turn off the main, everything drains out. Great for snowbirds and one less thing to remember to do when winterizing your yard.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job and should last longer than the all plastic ones I ordered these and they installed easy and worked well. I ended up buying some all plastic ones locally and these brass ones are far superior and seem like they will hold up longer
