Customer Reviews

1/2 in. Brass CSST x MIPT Male Adapter is rated 2.9 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Stay away I have used ProFlex and Trac Pipe. This was the first time with this junk. Leaks everywhere. Can't get it to pressure test. Bad design on the fittings and the way they seal. Go some place else.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Love flexible gas line / hate these adaptors Like another reviewer wrote before me: Go buy the fittings sold at Lowe's. Much better, leak free design.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Didn't have any problems at all. I ran 25' of the 1/2" csst tapping into existing black pipe. Followed the instructions and did not have any leaks or problems with the installation. Was very satisfied with the time it took as well as how the fittings were made. I would use again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked great I had to run a new gas line to a relocated water heater. Was not excited about using black pipe so i thought I would give the csst a try.I ran 25 feet of gas line in 2 hours start to finish. It worked great with no leaks.I did use gas tape on every fitting even though they say you dont need it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from satisfied with product Installed gas log and used this instead of black pipe. Very happy with the adapter. Leak free the first time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good product Pretty easy to use. You have to watch out for the little rubber gasket as it can fall out and is very difficult to put back in. I wet it a little bit to make it slide easier on the CSST pipe.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Nothing but Leaks Alpha Flex (now called Home Flex) is a horrible system. The pipe is good, but the connection system was not well thought out. There is only one non-metallic washer that seals against the stainless steel pipe. Out of the six connections I made, I could only get one to seal so no bubbles appeared when performing the leak test. I cut off several connections and tried again. When I disassembled the connections, everything looked smooth, but yet they still leaked. A couple connections were obviously deformed. When tightening the connections, the pipe folds back on itself and is supposed to create a smooth seal against the washer. I can appreciate the ingenuity of the system, but in four words: IT DOES NOT WORK! I could not tighten the connections enough to stop the leaks. I purchased Pro-Flex connectors from Lowe's and they are much better and easier to use. They come with a thick silicone washer to seal to the connector. I made an airtight connection on the first try. You also don't have to tighten the connections as much, just hand tight and then another 0.25-0.50 turn more.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Adapters are a problem Adapters have a rubber gasket which is easily tore up when it interfaces with flexible natural gas line. Thus you have a major gas leak. Home Depot has a problem with selling this brand of adapter.
