how do you LOWER THE PRESSURE

THIS QUESTION WAS ASKED BEFORE BUT NOT ANSWERED THIS REGULATOR IS RATED BETWEEN 10 -25 PSI AND FACTORY SET AT 12-15 PSI BUT how do reduce the pressure ; perhaps down to 10 psi??????? thanks Kevin
Asked by: none
There should be a faucet type valve on your furnace, mine looks like a regular outdoor hose bib as you open it and drain water out into a bucket the pressure will or should fall but be careful that water is super hot!! If you lower it and it still does not stay at where you set it then the valve might be defective. To raise the pressure just lift the lever on this valve but keep it below 20 PSI

After 25 years my Watts pressure regulator was not regulating properly and allowing the pressure to rise above 20 PSI and rather than try and just clean it etc I bought this exact replacement. It is not common to find an exact replacement after 25 years and I was very happy to find that Watts still makes these....why change a good product when it works? Can't complain it lasted 25 years too! It was an easy swap and now I have now more dripping from my furnace and the set pressure stays below 20 PSI....thank you Home Depot and Watts!
