I'll be using shark bite 3/4 flexible hot water heater hoses. 3/4 screw on at water heater; 3/4 push on at other end. I need to connect to 1/2 in. copper pipe with a push on connection. What shark bite reducer or adapter do I need to get? The employee in the store told me that the part exists, but for some reason, he can't get them in the store.

Answer:
My suggestion would be to purchase a 1/2" x 3/4 FNPT Flex Hose Item U3068Flex18LF. This features a 1/2" Push Fit connection on one end and a 3/4" FNPT connection on the other.

Answer:
Yes this will adapt a 3/4" Male Hose to 1/2" Push-to-Connect. Another solution is we sell 1/2" Push-Fit x 3/4" FIP Hoses in 12-24" lengths that are made for adapting 1/2" Copper, PEX, or CPVC to a 3/4" Water Heater Male Nipple.

Answer:
It depends what kind of 3/4 flexible water hose that you are using. The push fit side can only be used on copper, PEX, and CPVC. The FNPT side can thread on to standard threaded pipe.

Customer Reviews

1/2 in. Brass Push-to-Connect x 3/4 in. Female Pipe Thread Adapter is rated 3.0 out of 5 by 1.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Spinning limits range of applications I bought an elbow, a female connector, and a male connector to replace a tub stubout that had disconnected at the solder joint in the wall. All went well with the SharkBite connectors until I tried to screw on the faucet. Because the copper tubing can spin there was no way to tighten the faucet. I now have to replace two of the connectors with others that do not spin. I am not looking forward to removing the sharkbit connectors--they are very difficult to remove even with the removal tool, and with their location in the wall it is very difficult to get the appropriate leverage on the tool. SharkBite needs to a better job warning people about applications. They tout the spinning as a feature, which it certainly can be in some applications--but in other applications it renders these connectors useless. On the positive side the connectors did not leak at all and I will use them in the future when I can.
