  • Cleaner and easier to handle than black steel pipe
  • Bends around corners eliminating need for additional joints and fittings

Answer:
Yes, You can bury CSST tubing in plastic electrical conduit, unless prohibited by local city building codes. If you're connecting more then one section like I did you'll have to use a union. You'll need to use 1 1/4 diameter conduit to allow for the union. Other wise 1 inch diameter conduit will work.

Answer:
CSST cannot be directly buried under any circumstance!
Recently, many states have recognized the ability of CSST to be used in underground gas piping installations.
CSST for use in underground gas piping installations must be sleeved in suitable conduit, either electrical conduit or ABS. Larger diameter’s are necessary to pull the CSST thru the line, generally 3″ conduit is used.

Answer:
Yes. Refer to the HOME-FLEX Installation Manual pg. 23-24. The HOME-FLEX CSST tubing can be buried if it is run through a non-metallic conduit, such as a pvc conduit.

Answer:
Yes! On page 23-24 of the HOME-FLEX Installation Manual the pipe can be buried as long as it is in a "non-metallic water-tight conduit". We mention that a PVC or PE Conduit would be ideal and that a fitting should not be in the buried section.

Answer:
I asked Google your question. The results were interesting to say the least. The general consensus is ccst is not safe for oxygen due to leaks at the fittings.

Answer:
Two coupled together using the 11-429-005 coupler, would leave you about 9 ft 10 inches short. You could buy the 11-00575 1/2" x 75' csst and then just cut off 15'. The THD SKU number for the 75' length is 701018.

Answer:
Hi TT-- There is a requirements that CSST must be protected from the possibility of mechanical damage. For this reason, do not use it under your travel trailer. There is a risk that road hazards could cause damage to it. If I can assist you further, give me a call. I am here M-F from 8-5PM Pacific Time Zone. 661-257-3923 Ask for Jon

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy install When my wife and I decided to remodel our kithcen my wife wanted a gas oven. I was not looking forward to removing the bulkhead in our finished basement just to run the black pipe. When I found home flex I got excited. The whole install took only two hours. I fished the csst through the bulk head and connected both ends with no leaks. Were is the easy botton? March 12, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Flexible and easy to use First and foremost, if you're thinking of buying this and installing the gas line yourself, make sure you watch the videos on the HomeFlex website. They state clearly that you must be qualified to make air-tight connections before doing any installation, and being qualified just means watching the videos and reading the online instructions before you actually try to run a gas line. The videos/instructions online are pretty clear on how to properly make the connections air-tight, including making sure you use a proper cutter to avoid having burrs that can cause leaks. I wouldn't recommend trying to install this prior to visiting the manufacturer's website for instructions (unless you're a pro who installs gas lines all the time, and even then I'd see the manufacturer's specs). Because the hose is flexible, it's ideal for applications such as installing/moving a gas range in a kitchen remodel. We have access to our crawl space, so it was easy to get the hose exactly where we needed it when we moved our range. Note that some appliances such as dryers are not supposed to be directly connected to this line but require a valve between the tubing and the dryer. August 8, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Easy to do I needed to pull the pipe through tight space under the house and hook up my heater and oven. With Home Flex it went fast, its easy to put all the fittings on, its clean. You need to be careful not to cut yourself as the edges of stainless steel tube are razor sharp and don't forget to ground the pipe to avoid lighting damage. March 15, 2014
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by JUNK. DO NOT BUY!!!! The csst line itself seems alright, but the fittings are absolute garbage. No matter what you do, they leak. I'm taking every last piece out and returning to the store. I wouldn't use this junk anywhere. Do yourself a favor and buy a better product the first time. January 13, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by worst product I have bought at Home Depot. First, I can't believe that Home depot actually carries this junk as their CSST products. I bought two lines to convert my 2 wood burning fireplace, 100ft and 25 ft. You can't get a connection leak free with this junk, at first I thought that it was just me that I was doing it wrong, but after 10 different fittings and attempts I finally reach out to a master plumber, he came and said the same thing the gasket is made out of paper, the company called it fiber, but it's cardboard paper. He said in his 20yrs experience he has never seen a gas gasket made out paper. Unfortunately, one of the lines that I ran I had just closed the wall up so I can't bring it back to the store, What a waste of time, money and effort. I hope Home depot review this product and take it off their shelves before they ruin their reputation. Should have gone to Lowes. November 23, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by PSI RATING This information is from Home Flex. You can test it as high as 25 PSI for short durations. Most inspectors will test at 15 PSI (or less) for 5 mins. Working pressure rating is 5 PSI. November 15, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not in my house I am a master plumber with 15 years experience, this is worst product for the transportation of gas I have come across. I can't believe it was ever approved for sale to anyone. The fact that it uses a fiber washer as the only sealing point is mind boggling. I have used many different brands of CSST for gas and never had a problem, this stuff leaked at every fitting. I ripped it all out and went with a better product. October 4, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Csst Tubing worked well. However I was very disappointed that the tubing came with NO ends. Just bare pipe. This required another trip to HD. If I had been informed of this I would have gotten adapters when I purchased the black pipe and fittings. Nothing was mentioned in the literature. August 7, 2015
