Bought this August 27th 2016 for a clogged drain. Used the other reviews and used my drill for power. Easy insert to the vent tube on the roof until it stopped, Gave an extra push then stretched the auger cable out connected the drill and started spinning, it slowly worked its way in. Backed it out and did it again. In fact did all 3 on the roof. Pipes cleared up and no problems with the washing machine backing up into the sink. Yes I recommend this product. Use common sense and it works like a dream. Better than calling a Plummer out on a weekend at $150.00

Unable to even go past 4 to 6 feet down the drain as this snake is very difficult to maneuver. I took it back to return it the next day but was told this item cannot be returned.

This thing is useless. I inserted into the outside cleanout and I know there is a 90 at the bottom and another 90 about 5 feet away underground. I can get my small ridged snake through both 90's using my drill. I could not get this past the second 90. I even put this on a drill with the help of my wife about 40 ft away to help spin it (carefully of course). This is junk and a waste of $29.

Very robust unit and the extra length is great. Works great to clear downspout drains too! Highly recommended for the handyman's plumbing box.

Unless you have a straight shot of PVC pipe this thing is pretty much useless. Forget about it on cast iron, go rent yourself a good power auger and save yourself many knuckle abrasions. The "crank" handle served little or no purpose at all. It's about a 3/4" offset with a set screw in the middle. Couldn't return it for "sanitation" reasons as I had already attempted to run it through a cast iron main even though it was undamaged. Maybe I should have rinsed it off. I had this crazy idea they had people there that were paid to do those type things. Save your money. Rent a power auger or fork over the money to purchase one. Other people have given this thing a high rating. Beats the heck out of me.

I had a clogged kitchen drain and plunging didn't help. I initially bought the BrassCraft 1/4 in. x 25 ft. Power Drum Auger and Drano but they didn't clear my clog. I decided to try this auger as a last resort before calling a plumber. I'm so glad that I purchased this auger. Within 5 minutes it was able to hit the clog and catch a chunk of food (rice) in its head. I repeated the process a few times and it successfully cleared my clog. This thing saved me at least $100 from not having to call a plumber.
The only downside of the auger is that it doesn't come with some storage container. I ended up throwing it in a cardboard box for storage.
