Product Overview

Everbilt anti-siphon frost proof sillcock assure protection against freezing and undesirable back siphoning. Because they're frost proof, they can stop outside hydrants from freezing and bursting the pipes. Plus, the anti-siphon feature protects against water siphoning back to contaminate the potable water system. Also, unlike anti-siphon attachments, which must be manually drained to prevent freezing, the integral anti-siphon design is self draining.

Customer Questions & Answers

what does anti siphon mean

Asked by: 1234567890
It means it stops the formation of a siphon. The movement of water by the pull of gravity can create a vacuum that tends to keep water flowing out of a higher location or a location of lower pressure. Like siphoning gasoline from an automobile's fuel tank into a container on the ground next to it, once the flow is started, it will tend to continue.

why does the frost free sillock drip/leak water from around the anti siphon knob on top

Asked by: jm
Hello, if leaking while opening this is normal. However if it is always leaking their may be an issue with the vacuum breaker. If that is the problem we do have replacement vacuum breakers that can be sent out. Please call us (877)319-3757

Home Depot replaced a bad product with another bad one. Seals do not last and leak. I always shut off the water from inside in winter but this does not seem to help.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would of given zero stars if it was an option This valve leaks from the stem while on, not the siphon valve, not the packing nut but the stem. I tore the valve apart to see if something was assembled wrong or missing. What I found is that the stem is hollow and on the squared end for the knob there is two drilled holes, this is where the water was leaking. On the other end is the plunger of the valve, and this end is spring loaded to pop out a 1/4" further. This allows water to flow through the hollow tube and out the two little holes. This leak only happens when the valve it opened, the valve is leak free when closed. I visited my local plumbing supply and I was told that is exactly what it is supposed to do. So if you want an outside valve that you can hook a hose up to and leave open so a timer can open for your garden, or just pull the trigger at the end of your hose, this isn't what you want. Look for a ProLine frost valve by Mueller Global, I replaced this sillcock with the ProLine and it now operates as I want, without leaking while open at the house but shut at the end of the hose. I will add, I contacted the manufacturer for this sillcock and explained my situation. I do have a replacement part coming and I was told this will solve my problem. I will share with a follow up review if it would of or not, I will be able to tell by how the replacement part is constructed. On that note, if a company's quality control it so poor that they send out leaky valves you may want to look else where anyways.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Good for 4 months Purchased and installed in June 2015. Faucet worked fine through early October 2015. Shut the water off for the season, opened and closed the faucet and left it alone until May 2016. Turned on the water, went outside and turned on the faucet. Much to my surprise, nothing came out. I had installed the exact same faucet out front. This one worked fine. Due to job responsibilities, I was not able to work on this until today. After doing a quick search, I found a video showing me how to remove the stem. The 2 back washer/seals had almost completely disappeared. Not sure how this could happen. I am now searching elsewhere for a replacement.

Prepared for winter this season - shut off and drained the lines. There must have been a small amount of water left in the line as the pipe stem burst right in the middle. I thought this thing was "frost proof", not sure what means.
