how does this lock install and work?

I have a customer who's security door has an existing lock with no Key. I am looking to replace the lock with a new set and like the concept of the 300 pound magnetic lock but have never used one of these. How does it work?

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Doesn't work. Need to return. Was delivered fast enough, but magnet has nearly zero holding power. Need to return/exchange.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Misleading voltage input Voltage input is shown to be 12/24 VDC and an illustration shows how to program with shunts on a header. There are no programing header or shunts. Unit is hardwired for 12 V operation and cannot be set for 24 V without soldering.
