Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Fabio 1/3 HP Cast Iron Pedestal Sump Pump
The pump style and operation is exactly what I wanted. Home Depot was prompt in filling my order and sending me the pump. Home Depot also helped me get the fittings necessary to connect the pump. I am all set for the rainy season and water in my basement. Thanks Home Depot.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Frustrated Very disappointed
Had to replace my Wayne sump pump after 20+ years. Decided to stick with Wayne since our old one held up so well. Got it installed and tested, but on the 3rd test it failed and wouldn't turn on again. Our old one was made in USA but the new one was made in China. No longer a quality product.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Dissapointed Nice pump when it works but questionable reliability
I purchased this pump, around March of this year to replace my primary sump pump. The old pump had a plastic housing (like my back-up pump) and after a few years the screws that hold the plastic pump rot away leading to failure. I liked the idea of an iron pump housing.
The Wayne pump arrived, everything looked good (no sign of shipping damage) so I installed it without testing first, I should know better. After installing I tripped the switch for a test an nothing but a hum. The stator would turn very slowly about 90 degrees then stop.
Pulled the pump out of the sump and found it partially seized, very hard to turn manually. I'm not sure if it was the pump or motor since I didn't want to take apart my brand new pump.
I called HD and the quickest way to get a replacement was to purchase a second one (special order) and return the first for a credit when the replacement showed up. Good thing I have a back up pump in the sump or I would have had a flooded basement in no time.
I received the replacement in a few weeks, this time I tested before installing, worked fine so in it went.
Worked great through the rainy spring season, actually a fantastic pump, effective and almost silent.
It's late November 2015 and I just checked the pump since we occasionally get high water through the winter. The pump is seized up solid! Motor hums but no movement at all. I need to decide if I want to pull it out and see if I can free it up or just send it back for a refund.
My sump sits empty through the summer, maybe this pump would work better if constantly submerged with regular use.
It's a shame, this would be a great pump if more reliable but there's no excuse for poor quality at this price. I may just stick with cheap pumps and replace every few years.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by CapeCodGuy Experience demonstrates pedestal sumps superior to submersible pumps
Solidly constructed and like all pedestal sumps easy to adjust activation of float-switch for preferred water height (unlike submersibles). Pedestal sumps do require the owner to construct a simple wood retainer to hold the pump in the center of the sump pit (two pieces of wood screwed together: one slightly wider than the sump pit and one narrower with a notch for the pedestal pipe). The shipping carton was not well-contructed and had been damaged in shipping but fortunately the pump was unharmed. I am delighted with this product. A similar pedestal pump in another part of my cellar has been operating without difficulty for over ten years.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Brandon fairly easy to install, seems well made
Product seems sturdy, the cast iron makes it feel durable. It was fairly easy to install, though it was difficult to determine from the instructions or the box what size PVC pipe I would need (1.5 inch diameter). I bought it online, so did not consult anyone regarding the pipe size before I purchased it. Since I was replacing a sump pump with a 1.25 inch discharge, i just needed to make a trip to Home Depot to get a larger pipe and a new check valve. Not a big deal, and once I got them home, finishing the installation was quick. We haven't had rain since I installed it, so I can't say whether it continues to work well, but it ran fine when I tested it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by JoeP Best product and value EVER!
A US made product by Wayne Pumps, this pedestal style sump pump works better and more reliably than the two previous submerged sump pumps that I had in the same location. I have properly placed it and anchored it; wired in a protected receptacle; provided a shroud to keep water away from the motor; placed a good check valve inline; now, when the rains come, I sit and listen to it do its job efficiently. I no longer have to worry as with other pumps that just plain gave me much grief.
Like hydroelectric or solar power, it is a little extra work on the front end for a much better result over the long term.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Dick Excellent quality. Good investment.
So far, this has proven to be an excellent investment. This pump replaces a 1/3HP (other-brand) all-plastic pump that had worn out. I wanted to upgrade a bit to cast iron. The pump installed very easily, and works as advertised. In my case, the pump is handling gray water from a basement kitchen in our church. It pumps against a 12 foot static head, and seems to be functioning well within the advertised performance. I installed it in a new 18" diameter x 22" deep synthetic sump. I used a 1-1/4" conduit strap to anchor the pump stem to a custom pressure treated wood top stabilizer strut that I used to span the top of the sump.
