Answer:
depending in the pressure you use, it could take up to an hour, before stopping totally,
I suggest, try to shut it off, at least 30 minutes before your schedule
In the other hand, it is NOT really significant amount of water, just what remains in the hose
normally I use them with short hoses, 20' long or shorter

Answer:
Port Outdoor Cool 1/4 in. Mist Systemproduct as far as I know does not have a drain valve. If you have the brass unit drain valve it probably have defective washer or has sediment in it. Try using some Lime Away type product to see if this will clear your problem.

I noticed that one of the reviews says to use the sediment filter, but I wasn't sure if it comes with one or it needs to be purchases separately.

Answer:
jrsummersill1, this set doesn't come with a sediment filter already included. You would need to purchase one separately - our Calcium Inhibitor Filter (Orbit #10109W) is designed for this exact purpose.

an average of 1.5 to 2 Qts. per hour (if full blast), I operate it on minimum pressure and give me almost 3 hours of usage per gallon

Answer:
VicM, thanks for the question. The water flow can vary - depending on water pressure - but this misting system usually uses about ½ gallon of water per hour.

1/4 in. Portable Outdoor Cooling/Misting System is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 22.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Misting system Although it says its 10 feet long only about 4 feet is used for the spray nozzles. The spray is very very minimal coming out. If its over 100 degrees out (like yesterday in the pacific northwest) don't bother there is no relief from this product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Value, has some issues but it is up to the owner to minimize them I found the price & the operation to be simple & here is suggestions to avoid problems which most of the non rigid systems encounter as well as rigid units. 1)Install the line with least flexing of the system when turned on. 2) Use the water sediment filter to minimize the misters to being clogged. 3) Use the low volume flex tubing with low water pressure. 4)Once in a while remove the end mister to clean out the system. 5) If you use the system many times invest in a hard pipe system. Either Copper or Schedule 40 permanent install.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from What a difference I was sitting under our patio canopy on a 100 degree day. It hit me out of the blue to look for one of these things. One hour later I'm back home and sitting under the canopy with these installed and it feels like 85 degrees with a cool breeze. Installation couldn't have been easier. I actually ended up with 2 of the 3/8 inch version to expand it but I'm sure it's all the same. I secured it around the inside edge with zip ties, connected the hose and that was it. I've seen reviews where they say it drips or just sprays water but it will do that if you don't have enough water pressure. It's definitely not the product so if that's an issue for you, find a low pressure version.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Orbit 1/4" Misting System I just installed the Orbit Misting System in my horses stall. It took about 10 minutes to do, really simple. Makes a huge difference in air temperature. My horse loves it, just stands under it for hours. Very inexpensive way to keep your animals comfortable. Even if it only lasts for one summer or even a couple months, I recommend it highly. I bought a few extra to keep on hand, great price!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Used for cooling animals We purchased these to use in the 90-100+ degree heat this summer. We hung them from the barn ceiling and had a fan blowing from the side. These really helped cool the barn for the horses. I'd find them all grouped underneath the misters in the evening so I know the horses thought they helped also. They do tend go get the floor a bit wet but it's worth it to keep the horses comfortable. I also purchased a mistymate and both worked pretty much the same.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from nice product installed this in my barn for the horses. the drips are pre- installed all you have to do is screw in the jets. the mist is very fine and light, blowing around in the breeze and does not soak or spook the horses. I am pleased with this item as it lowers the temp. quite a bit without getting everything wet. uses very little water pressure and works off a timer very well. I didn't use the clips that it came with it, as I use it in a permanent location. If it were moved alot the tag clips would work fine

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great way to save on shipping costs Product does exactly what we wanted it for - cools area by at least 10 degrees - kept our broccoli and lettuce from bolting in the heat.
