The unit was making a knocking sound as if a rock or something is in it. I bought three units and they all make that sound. I did not hear it last night when I bought them. Is that a problem.

Answer:
The knocking sound is normal. It is the safety shut off mechanism if the unit is tilted over. It is explained in the instructions.

Answer:
The heater has a tip over safety feature. This knocking sound is related to this feature. It is probably some sort of ball that rolls and makes contact to shut off the heater.

Cord length? Same manufacturer?

This question is from 1,500-Watt Convection Electric Portable Heater and Fan

Specification chart indicates that the value for the length of the electric cord is in inches. The number given is 7.2. Please provide correct length, as the cord could not possibly be only 7.2 inches long. That would require an extension cord which would make this item extremely unsafe.

Manufacturer's Name is "UNBRANDED". However, the Spec gives a brand name. Is this 2016 manufacturer the exact same one who made the year 2009's heaters which got such outstanding reviews?

Answer:
You are right it is not 7.2" long. I am not at the heater now but it was a few feet long. I could move it around in my 9' trailer from a single outlet.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Powerful Heat In A Little Box I ran this little heater at full power in a chilly unheated bedroom (10 X 15 ft) and about 55 F on a night when the outside temperature was about 24 degrees. I came back a few hours later, and was surprised to see that the bedroom thermometer showed a temperature of 70 F. One thing for sure, it puts out the heat. It seems like a good value for $20. Now hopefully it will last. The heater is a ceramic heater (Shows on the box) but it is advertised here as a "convection" heater. What is the difference? January 17, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Failed quickly I used the heater once to test it and then took it on a trip to heat the trailer. When I went to use it the fan would not work. I could feel heat, but I was not sure if it was safe to use the heating element if the fan was not blowing across it. The good news, it was a lot quieter. January 12, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Don't let the small size fool you. What a fantastic heater! I dreaded to see my electric bill with my electric heat pump this winter. I found this little 1500 watt heater in the Home Depot weekly ad. I was skeptical that it was probably a poor choice in an electrical portable floor heater. Boy was I wrong! Easy to use. Quiet, not like the noise from the air vents with the heat pump fan pushing air into the incoming heat ducts. I put this heater in the hall, outside of my master bedroom, facing into the bedroom. It heated the bedroom quickly and even warmed the hallway and bathroom. I then placed it in the hall facing towards the living room and I couldn't believe how fast it warmed the air in the living room AND the adjoining dining room and kitchen! I am VERY PLEASED that I took a chance and tried this little heater. The price was very reasonable at only $19.99. I plan on buying another one for my niece who spends a lot of time downstairs so she won't have to waste energy heating the upstairs bedroom when she's not there during the day. January 4, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Didn't expect such a great product With receiving new base-board heaters in my apartment, my electric bill tripled last year. I was looking for a space heater to cut on the cost this year. The size of this heater is why I didn't think it would be this great. But because I was just testing out heaters and this was inexpensive, I went with it. I got it home and put it in my bathroom, walked away for 5 minutes and when I came back, the bathroom was more than toasty. I put this next to my bedside each night. I have to wake up and turn it off most of the time, b/c it's so powerful. Thanks Home Depot. I will be purchasing at least two more of these. I guess I'll see when the next electric bill comes, how much the cost difference is. October 21, 2009
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great little heater at a great price! Bought this heater over a year ago now for my bedroom (~110sq ft.) to use while sleeping over night. Works great, heats the space fast - raises the temperature in the room about 8 to 10 degrees in roughly 20 minutes. Definitely a great little heater for the price. Make sure you heed the instructions as the heater portion of the unit will definitely get hot to the touch. Love the variable temperature dial, and love the fact that it shuts off automatically when the desired temp is reached or if the unit is tipped over. Definitely a great little space heater! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Worth every penny! I just bought this the other day. I am toastly happy with it! It was worth the $19.99 and more. Warmed my room fast, however, you'll feel it more in a small space. I assume you'll need more than one if you have a much larger space. Nevertheless, I am satisfied with my purchase! To turn it on is a no-brainer. There is a thermostat it says it on the instruction. It goes from minimum to maximum Overall, I highly recommend this product. The smartest purchased I made. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great, Quiet Fan! I purchased this fan for my daughter's room this winter, as her room is in the back of the house, furthest away from our main heating source. I ended up taking it to work as an under the desk heater for myself because a circuit would blow everytime I turned this fan on in my daughter's room. I think that's more a house problem than this fan's problem, so I am happy with my purchase! It's quiet, and it sure does keep my tootsies warm while I am working! =) December 5, 2009
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works Great! This heater is amazingly efficient! I use this heater in my office at work which is right next to large exterior doors that are opening constantly. The office is about 10 x 20 and has no ceiling so the cold air is always blowing in. It's surprising how well this works. I've had it for several years and it's still going strong. It heats up very quickly. It works better than the oil filled heater I have at home that was much more expensive. January 2, 2010
