Works just like the oil filled but will never leak oil. Takes awhile to heat up as there is no fan and the heat comes out of the top but once it gets the room warm it keeps it warm. (actually heats up my living room and into the kitchen and dining area). The main room it is in is the warmest. I run it on high till its warm. If its in the 30's I turn it down on energy saver mode. If it's really cold out it stays on high. I run two electric heaters during the day and one at night turned down and my electric bill runs around hundred dollars a month. I only run my furnace in the morning for 45 minutes to warm the house back up. I would recommend to try this heater for overall warmth.

I love the look of this heater. Light-weight, doesn't take up much space, and doesn't get too hot so you don't have to worry about burning yourself or setting anything on fire.
I live in a one bedroom apt, so i bought two of these - one for the living/dining room, one for the bedroom. If it's 30 degrees or below outside, expect to have these on full-blast all day to maintain a temp of 70. And it will take some time for the place to actually warm up. I tried to turn these off or down whenever possible, especially when I was away from the apt. My electric bills went through the roof! $330/month! My summertime A/C bill wasn't half that! It says "Energy Saving" on the box, but obviously Save Energy it does not, not by far. I would not recommend these to anyone for any reason.

I bought this heater to replace an old oil-filled radiator heater that had served me very well. Unfortunately, it started leaking, and that's where this heater is a great improvement on the last. This one compares favorably, though I've only had it one month, so it's hard to say how it will hold up. Some might complain that it doesn't have numerical termperature settings. This is not an issue for me. When I found the temperature I liked, I just lowered the dial until it turned off, and I've kept it at that position since. I keep my bedroom (12x12) at about 66 degrees at night and the heater doesn't have to work too hard to keep that temperature constant. Paired with a humidifier, it creates the perfect conditions for my newborn baby, who needs a warm room and light bedding. As for the heater's efficiency, I don't know yet as I haven't received a bill from the electric company, but it's on a very low setting and it turns off at times during the night. It emanates heat quite well.

I had to buy this because we had a gas leak that required that our gas be turned off till our line could be replaced. I had one in my bedroom over night and actually got too warm with it on low. I would recommend this to anyone.

Most of the heat goes straight up because all the holes are
on top.....there should be some holes on the sides. As everyone knows heat rises.....so the heat moves around.
