Product Overview

This professional grade anti-siphon valve replaces Rain Bird and other irrigation valves installed above ground with 1 in. female threaded inlet and outlet. It can be used with any 24 volt AC irrigation timer. Its unique reverse-flow design helps prevent flooding in the event of internal diaphragm failure, keeping the valve closed and saving water. Anti-Siphon valves should always be installed at least 6 in. above the highest head on the valve line, and should never have another valve installed further down the line from the main valve. After installation and before startup, always the flush system of dirt and debris manually using the valve's external bleed screw. Equipped with the additional advantage of adjustable flow control, this model helps prevent wasteful misting when water pressure is too high. A top mounted, easy turn flow control knob allows you to optimize flow to the zone, permitting sprinklers to water at their most efficient rate for more uniform coverage. This valve can be applied with all types of watering devices including Rain Bird spray heads (1800, 600), and rotors (22SA, 32SA, 42SA+, 52SA, LG3 and AG5) as well as Drip zones when properly installed together with a pressure regulator and filter.

  • Anti-Siphon (above ground) mounting
  • 1 in. female threaded inlet and outlet (use 1 in. MPT threaded pipe adapters with Teflon tape)

  • 24 VAC, 50/60 Hz automatic operation or manual activation with bleed screw
  • Buna-N diaphragm offers superior performance in harsh water environments

What about water hammer when it shuts off?

Asked by: Kevin
Water hammer can be caused by a number of reasons. Here are a few trouble shooting tips going from easiest to try to most difficult: 1. Air bubble in line - Shut off water at main shut off valve and drain the line to release air bubble. Slowly refill the line. 2. Valve closing/opening mechanism worn - Replace the diaphragm. The part for this valve is Model # DRKCP/CPF Internet #100117671 Store SKU #666129. 3. Excessive water pressure (over 100 PSI) - this can be measure with a P2A pressure gauge. Install pressure regulator on line before valves to reduce pressure. 4. Valve too small for amount of flow - this should not be an issue for a residential valve that is 1" 5. Pipe is too small for the flow - Use larger pipe which will slow the velocity of water leading up to the valve and reduce water hammer.

Just one good tip I want to stress after doing this one myself, before you put glue into the PVC, MARK with a Sharpie how deep the valve will go in. There's no turning back once the glue comes in cont
