Customer Questions & Answers

Can I use the watts back flow 1inch instead of the 3/4 inch that I have now?

Asked by: Anonymous
Yes you can. Don't oversize by more than one pipe size due to low flow damage referred to as "wire draw". And make sure the design of the back flow preventer meets the requirements for what you are using it on. If it is for an irrigation system, stick with a pressure vacuum breaker. Just so you know by law these are supposed to be tested at time of installation, or repair, and annually thereafter by someone certified such as by ASSE.

Are the dimensions correct?

Product depth (in.) is 14.5?
Asked by: pipe
Technically, the way the item is stocked on the shelf in most stores, that is correct. But if you turn the product, 14.5" can refer to the product width (or height) as well.

Is this model number (009-QT) the same as 009M2QT?

I'm replacing Watts 009M2Qt 1" and want to make sure this model would be the replacement? Thanks!
Asked by: jrproette
The current version being offered of the 1” 009 is the M2. This should be an exact replacement of what you have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product great price I searched eBay trying to find used valve but could not beat the price of Home Depot. I'm delighted to find a new one cheaper than a used one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from RPZ Reduced Pressure Zone The Home Depot would sell more of this product if the word "reduce" was changed to "reduced". Thanks for having a very competitive price.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good product, but not what they advertise as This valve is not a pressure reducing valve. It only designed for low hazard (irrigation systems are high hazard due to fertilizers, so it is not approved for lawn irrigation systems) back flow prevention.
