Use in-line valves in locations where the use of a pressure vacuum breaker (PVB) or a double-check valve is required by code to protect against backflow. Check your local codes to determine what type of valve is required. After installation and before startup, always the flush system of dirt and debris manually using the valve's external bleed screw.

Answer:
Yes but it has to be replaced as a complete unit, you cannot take parts from this to fix the other valve.

Answer:
I'm not an irrigation expert, but if you have a residential system and need to replace a valve on 1" supply, this valve will work. Provides plenty of pressure.

Answer:
I don't believe so. The top and bottom are made to fit precisely together as one unit. It takes less than 20 minutes to cut out old one and replace it with this one for worry free use for years to come. I have replaced all mine my self I am a IT tech by trade and it was real easy.

Rated 4.4 out of 5 by 21 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Rain Bird valve is better than Orbit valve There have been 4 zones using Rain Bird valves which were installed in my front more than year 20 years ago, 9 zones using Orbit valves which were installed in my back yard 7 years ago. Last year, I was out of town for 2 weeks. When back home, one of sprinkler in the back yard was on. It could not be turned of by any means except turn of the water source. The water bill that month was $1,800+ including $1,700+ for water only. Because nothing wrong for the Rain Bird valves in the front yard. So I replaced defective Orbit valve with a Rain Bird valve. Few months later, 2nd Orbit valve defected. I had to replace it. Then 3rd Orbit valves defected. I decide to replace all 9 Orbit valves. Done with 7, 2 more to go ( see pictures ) July 18, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Replacement valve Product was easy to install, worked right out of the box with no issues. replaced 30 year old irrigation valve with this one . works perfectly. August 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Quality Product These Valves work great and are easy to install. I would highly recommend these valves. June 28, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Fairly easy to install. Easy to find repair parts. After 20 years, the original irrigation system in our yard is in need of repairs. I've had three valves die, and since they were brands the landscaper installed, I can't find parts for them easily. I opted to remove the old valve and replace with new RainBird valves. The valves are easy info to install. You just need to remove enough pipe on either side to slip in the new valve and use the appropriate male threaded adapters on each end to adapt to the inflow pipe and outflow pipe. Very easy to wire. Very easy to bleed it to remove air in the line. For the price, this cannot be beat, and I imagine it will be easy to get replacement parts if they are ever needed. April 19, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best replacement for Toro irrigation valve This valve is easy to install with the housing having threads. This allows the installer to thread on one inch PVC pipe prior to complete installation. The housing has very defined instructions and markings which aid in the installation process. This is my sixth valve to purchase and I am replacing the Toro valves that fail. I would definitely recommend this product to everyone. This valve has easy to replace components that make the valve a user friendly model and the replacement parts are readily available. I have several that are working like new but know that working on these valves will be easier than the toro models. August 5, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Irrigation valve The irrigation did exactly what I needed to do. Could not ask for a better product. May 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good valve, good value We have used this brand before and like it. We have had this one for 1 1/2 months and it has worked great. I highly recommend it. June 30, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tough last a long time My manifold had a sudden freeze last winter and cracked. Had to replace the whole thing. The old valves were the same model and lasted 23 years. I could have reused them (they still worked fine) but I decided to replace them as well. These valves are tough, even in Colorado weather. October 13, 2015
