1 in. x 2 in. x 8 ft. Furring Strip Board is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 3.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for making shelving frames. I purchased these furring strips to make the main supports for a shelving system I built into my storage shed. For this purpose, they worked really well. I was careful not to use too large of a nail on these to avoid splitting. I think I ended up using a pneumatic finish nail. These boards aren’t always the straightest, truest boards but for my application, they worked well and saved me some money compared to something larger. Besides, I didn’t need anything larger as these are more than adequate to support the weight of the shelves.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rough with knots I basically use this as a thick piece of shim and it works fine. It's low grade. I wouldn't recommend it for any exposed surface where you care about appearance. Even if you plan on painting it.
