Answer: 
Yes depending on the look you are going for it could be used for face frame material or cabinet door frames. If it will be painted a better option might be the hardwood, poplar which will produce a stronger product with less likely hood of screws pulling out, warping and splitting. I often use pine to make "mock" cabinet doors when testing out a design before I start cutting more expensive woods.

If you want the "pine" look just pick through the wood available for the straightest non-warped wood that has the fewest knots or smallest knots. Good luck!
