It has low shrinkage and is worked very easily by hand and machine tools. The product is easy to glue and has good nailing and screw holding properties. The paint retention properties are good and it is fairly easily treated with preservatives.

The specs list the Actual Thickness as 1". Is this correct or is it actually 0.75"? I need a board that is actually 1"

Answer: 
No. It is NOT 1 inch thick. All lumber that home depot and most other stores like it will use standard lumber sizes which would make a 1x4 actually 3/4 x 3 1/2.

I would not suggest using this for roof repair as it tends to warp (curve) with heat and cold. Use appropriate thickness plywood or OSB for roof deck repairs (usually, 3/4" or 1").
