I used to know the this like that but I don't now

To state the obvious, the thickness of 11/32 plywood is 11/32 of an inch which is 1/32 inch less than 3/8 inch which is the nominal thickness of this size of plywood.

Can plywood be used to put on grass and serve as a dance floor? Will it crack or is it strong enough?

Asked by: Smfillmo
It shouldn't crack, but its going to buckle if the lawn has any uneven spots. You might want to use some 2x6's and build a square frame to mount the plywood on, then you will not have any problem.

Would this work for a new roof sheeting or should I use something thicker

Asked by: bj
It should be at least 3/8" thick, but there are things to consider as below. Many Factors Affect Thickness The thickness of plywood used for roof decking depends on the roof slope, the spacing of rafters and the weight of other material to be put over the decking, as well as the design "load" — the amount of pressure exerted by various forces and the weather, especially weight of snow or ice accumulations. The wider the rafter spacing, the heavier the shingling, the lower the slope and the heavier the weather load, the thicker the plywood will have to be. Minimum Thickness Most roofs will be sheathed in plywood at least 3/8 inch thick. That will suffice on a roof with rafters set 16 inches apart with minimal roof loads. Loads will vary with the pitch of the roof; the flatter the roof, the greater the load on any one section. Steeper roofs will have lighter loads per square foot. Most Common Thickness For rafters spaced 20 or more inches apart, 1/2- or 5/8-inch plywood is recommended. The most common rafter spacing is 24 inches, and 5/8-inch plywood is recommended for that. It will support roof loads for most situations and is the standard for most roof applications. Roofs with very heavy loads may require 3/4-inch thickness. Regardless of thickness, the plywood should be a type suitable for exterior use, graded "Exterior" or "Exposure 1."

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not the value I thought I was getting Plywood was warped pretty bad. I was cutting it up into small pieces but it was hard to layout because of the warp.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great wood to use when I make shields. I fight in a full-contact swordfighting sport, and this is... Great wood to use when I make shields. I fight in a full-contact swordfighting sport, and this is my preferred material for both boffer shields and historical reproduction. It has nice impact resistance, light enough for its thickness, and doesn't rip apart when we bolt straps to it. NOTE: If anyone wants to try making really big shields, you're better off using a thicker plywood, otherwise it might get "floppy"

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Inconsistent quality I bought 6 sheets of this plywood to beef up an old barn roof prior to reshingling. As I was loading the sheets, I noticed one of the sheets was quite warped on one end. The HD team member assured me that it would flatten out as I nailed it down. The warped sheet would not nail flat. I even got it wet to soften it up and try to flatten it that way. I am not pleased that I have to crawl up on the roof to remove and replace the offending sheet. The other 5 sheets were okay, although two of the sheets had scraps of thin wood haphazardly glued on the face that I had to chisel off. Use caution when selecting your materials.
