Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Ticker We love it!
We bought one on Mother's Day weekend and we are thrilled with it, over all. We didn't want the big base taking up deck space since we added 4 feet to the deck 3 years ago, so using a 4x6 under the deck to reinforce it, we bought long bolts and attached umbrella pole to the deck, works beautifully. We will figure out a way to lock it in position, it does move with very little breeze, but my husband is a genius when it comes to this type of the thing, so no worries here. It touches the eve over back door, so perhaps a u shaped clamp a rib can sit in. We put plastic runner on the eve to protect umbrella from chafing. It's worth a little extra work! We would recommend it to others, but you will need to deal with the wind whatever way you can.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by DavRut Great features and poor durability
We purchased this umbrella in January 2012 and followed care instructions since it is occasionally windy and hot and dry in Palm Springs. The carbon fiber support for the umbrella broke in calm conditions 13 months after purchase. Customer Service offered to replace the umbrella for $120 plus $90 shipping. (Yotrio, the manufacurer, is located 90 miles away in City of Industry, CA.) Check out other reviews before purchasing and you will find that durability of this product and poor customer service from Yotrio are common complaints.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by jennbatesphoto Ridiculous design, umbrella spins...
I wish I would have read the reviews before purchasing this umbrella. Save yourself time and money... this umbrella spins with the gentlest of breezes. How totally ridiculous. Now we have to unload 240 pounds of sand out of its base and return to Home Depot. Oh, also, I phoned the manufacturer, Yotrious, and reported this problem. I've been waiting 4 weeks for an alleged "upgrade kit". Still waiting... in the meantime, sorry, this is going back to the store.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by MuddyToes Good umbrella if permanently mounted
I purchased this umbrella in Summer 2011 to install semi-permanently on my patio. When pouring the concrete for my new patio, we installed fittings to accept a cantilever-style umbrella, eliminating the need for the umbrella's cumbersome and ineffective weighted base. As a result, I've had a different experience from most of the other reviewers.
Pros: Attractive, the solar lights are cool, easy to raise and lower the umbrella, and so far, at least, the umbrella fabric has stood up just fine. The generous size of the umbrella covers a lot of space. For the price, this is a good umbrella. To get better quality, you'll need to spend 3x as much.
Cons: As other reviewers have mentioned, it is next to impossible to keep it from rotating. The screw down mechanism can't tighten enough to keep the umbrella from moving. I have a fairly sheltered back yard, so if the wind kicks up high enough to move the umbrella, it's generally time to go inside anyway.
I'm planning to buy a second one for another part of my back yard, and will install it the same way.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Christy Doesn’t Last Past A Year! Cheaply Made!
First I would like to say I LOVED This umbrella it was great, The lights on it made it that much better!! I had it maybe 1 1/2 years until the plastic piece where the handle is broke. In my opinion why make a critical part of the umbrella in cheap plastic? I have only had this about 1 1/2 years... I called Home Depot where I purchased it at, they said I could buy a replacement part or buy a new umbrella!! This was way too much money to spend on something that won’t last at least a couple years. Don’t buy it! JUNK

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by 12thMonkey Decent Umbrella - but needs TLC
To be honest I had a good run with the Umbrella. It lived outside in Southern California and went through all sorts of weather - but mostly just sunshine. In month 11 it broke. The handle to wind it up cracked off. completely. It has a 1 year warranty and fortunately the manufacturer replaced the whole top part for free in less than 1 week of submitting photos and receipt.
Had it bee 2 months later I had to pay for a replacement part I would have been very bummed.
I still recommend it as for the price it is still one of the better ones on the market.
I suspect if you put it down at nights and protect it from wind it would last longer.

We bought this product last year in April - went to put it up this year in March to find out the crank gear was stripped just went around and around - Home Depot said i had to call manufacture - which is Yotrious- I called and then emailed receipt because it was under a year - called a week later was told all set it was shipped - received an email this week - it is on backorder from China it won't arrive for 8 weeks - I have called over and over to maybe get a coupon to get a new one at Home Depot - I was told that because I used it last summer that it was no longer worth what I paid for it - don't order huge waste of money and terrible customer service!

Do not buy this product. It will only last a year. Home Depot won't honor the product and the manufacturer won't answer the phone. They don't even list the product on their site. It looked nice and worked well - until the crank broke and the PLASTIC brace cracked. The brace is the part that must support the entire umbrella- why make it out of plastic???? I can't afford to spend $300 a year for a new umbrella..can you?
