We have 50 fixtures with older ballasts and want to install this ballast and gradually change all out.
They are inside a VFW Hall and the existing fixtures are on dimmer switches...

Will this ballast work with dimmers?
If not, what would you recommend?
thanks

The two yellow wires each go to 2 bulbs, can I use a jumper between just the bulbs, and does there have to be a splice so the yellow is actually going to both bulbs and a jumper in between them?

120-Volt Electronic Ballast for 4 ft. 4-Lamp T8 Fixture is rated 4.8 out of 5 by 46.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good replacement for blown up ballast in Lithonia 4-bulb fixture This was a good replacement for a AccuPro ballast in a Lithonia 4-bulb fixture. Further, this is the ballast you want to use if you are using these lamps in your residence. This is one of the cases where the "residential" component is superior to the "commercial" one, and here's why. The "commercial" grade ballasts are subject to a different level of regulation with respect to the amount of radio frequency noise they emit. The "commercial" rating is at least three times as much. This does not matter much unless you have a radio receiver in your house, but if you want to listen to AM broadcast, the "commercial" rated ballasts are going to make that more difficult. I replaced an AccuPro "commercial" ballast with this one, and the radio noise went away. Pretty much completely gone. If you care about radio noise (maybe because you are a amateur radio operator,) then you want a ballast such as this one that is compliant with 47 CFR Part 18 "CLASS B" regulations. If you want to learn more, google "47CFR18" to see the Federal Regulations.

If you need your existing 4-lamp lighting fixture to work and aren't ready to switch to LED (or darkness), then this ballast is for you. Like all ballasts, this is a mysteriously heavy black box with some wires sticking out of it. The wires are nicely color coded--that is, if you have enough light to see the colors and are not color blind, they are. There is even an electronic diagram on the label of the ballast that provides useful information. Remove the old ballast leaving enough of its mysterious colored wires to attach to the new ballast. Do this with the electricity off for increased chances of outliving the life of your ballast. If all goes well, your new ballast will somehow make the lights work through its embedded magic. Reward yourself with a beverage of your choice after successful installation. (Note--ballast does NOT come with choice of beverage.)

I have 2, four bulb light fixtures (6 years old) and 1 ballast went out and the other is going bad.... So, I decided to replace both at the same time. Much cheaper than replacing the fixtures. Installation was very easy and presto I have bright light again. One caution... after you remove the old ballast don't reinstall it thinking it's one of the new ones... they look almost identical... not that I did that.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from exact match for the original The original Lithonia fixture had a ACCUPRO brand ballast for the T8-4 lamp. The GE Pro Line T8-4 ballast from Home Depot was an exact replacement with a 9.5" hole alignment for securing to the fixture. It was an easy change out and fixed the light for a third of the cost of a new lighting fixture

I would have thought it was a requirement to replace the entire light fixture. Being able to install this ballast was easier and less time consuming. Upon installation, which was a breeze, the fixture was up and working in no time.

I had a four lamp T12 fluorescent light that one of the ballasts burned out. I removed both ballasts and replaced them with this single 4-lamp T8. I had to lengthen some of the lamps wires. Other than that, installation was easy.

The fixture wires were a mess of spaghetti but the ballast wire colors matched the fixture wires and that made it easy to connect and install. Additionally, the instructions were easy to understand.
