Answer:
Mine is on a stand. You might consider that option - it can be nice to move it in our out of the shade, away from insects, etc. I'd worry about damaging the trees unless you put a rope around the trunk.

Customer Reviews

Rated 3.4 out of 5 by 28 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by seems fine Replacement for one that rotted out in the awful south Texas heat, rain, humidity and insects. This one is through its first summer sitting outside, and seems fine so far. November 10, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Low Quality Not worth it in the end, I bought recently and sat on a it only a few times when one of the wood panels broke. As others note is also stretches quite a bit. Hoping I can return to the manufacturer as it should at least last a good season I would hope! October 6, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hammock, did exactly as the instructions said it would. I am a large woman, and have wanted a hammock for years. When I saw this I thought it was too good to be true. I read the reviews and nearly passed, however, I couldn't resist the price. I got it, and followed the instructions exactly for installation. Yes, it is on the hook, and it did stretch, but it said that would happen. I find it very sturdy and comfortable. I am close to the ground, but in no way dragging. I am really happy I bought this, read the instructions, followed them, and formed my own opinion. It is going to be a nice summer. June 8, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by not worth your money I have a hammock stand and have had about 5 hammocks total in life. This one was worthless and was returned. Upon original set up, it held taught but sunk to the ground when I got in. After three stretches I ran out of chain to tighten it. The hammock stretched taught and level at about 4 ft off the ground but upon getting in, it sunk to borderline touching the ground again and was just awkwardly encompassing. Maybe if you took the time to soak and try to shrink the cotton ropes you might get some improvement, but the poor quality of the ropes makes me doubt that this hammock would even last a full season. I highly doubt I had a defect in my hammock. I think the hammock itself is the defect. April 22, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Sits on the ground! I bought this hammock with the hammock stand that was sold with it. The hammock, even without the extension chains and just hung by the main O-ring, hung clear to the ground! It was ridiculous. Our 10 year old son got into it and sat on the ground. Forget the fact that this hammock claims to hold 2 adults, even an 80 lb. child will be sitting on the ground. SO ANNOYING! May 15, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Sank to ground Trust the reviews... It sank to the ground no matter how tight we pulled it. I agree... Don't even sell them be cuz it won't even work for a baby. May 10, 2015
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Too stetchy I should've read these before I bought it but I saw 4 out of 5 stars and thought, oh good! Yeah, not good. I sunk to the ground no matter how tight I made it and I do not weigh anything near 450. Very disappointed. They should not even sell them. April 5, 2015
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by nice I was unable to use this because my hammock stand (span) was too short (close) for this product, so I really cannot tell you what it felt like to lay in hammock. From what I felt of the material it was nice and soft and probably would have been very relaxing to lay in the shade. March 31, 2015
