Answer:
No, this is not wet or damp location listed. A covered porch may not necessarily be a damp location though, depending on your location/ porch design and the amount of overhang of the covered porch.

According to the spec sheet, it can be used in temperatures ranging 0'c to 40'c and with relative humidity ranging 20% to 90% which is a pretty broad range. If you are on the coast, might be cutting it close in mid summer when humidity can dip into the 90%+ range. I don't see anything else in the spec sheet that says it can't be used outdoors although I would think a covered patio would be acceptable. Read More

I'm not sure how the finish of the switch would hold up outside over time though, it has a nice glossy white finish that may end up dulling over time but I could be mistaken. Read Less

The Leviton website does not say that it is, so I would assume that it is NOT. But in general, I would advise putting switches in non-damp locations, even if the fixtures themselves are wet-listed and installed in damp or wet locations.

This model will control fluorescent, LED and/or incandescent lights and/or a motor load of up to a total of 15 amps. This is a manual-on and occupancy-off switch: You must push on when entering the room and it will go off when there is no motion in the room for a time period of your choosing.

Answer:
Per Leviton, it can handle 600W of LED/CFL, 1800W Incandescent/Halogen or a 1/2 HP motor. I suggest you switch your fluorescent lights to LED bulbs (consume less electricity) and assuming your bathroom fan is not more powerful than 1/2 HP you should be ok. You can even contact Leviton to get confirmation.

A couple of key points: This is the "vacancy" version of this switch, which will automatically turn a light or fan OFF after someone leaves a room. If you want to automatically turn a light or fan ON and OFF, e.g. when someone ENTERS and LEAVES a room, get the IPS15 instead.

This switch does not require a ground, but does require the standard neutral line -- which is typically color coded white.

I let Home Depot know that they should add these key product details and the Leviton installation manual to their website.

I hope this is helpful,

Mark

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great motion detection switch for LED and CFL lights -- perfect for closets This Leviton motion sensing switch work with sensitive LED lights, compact flourescent bulbs and old incandescent bulbs. When I installed an LED light in my wife's clothes closet, I installed another brand -- which malfunctioned. This is not unusual with more sensitive LED light fixtures, which have electronic components. So I replaced it with this Leviton switch which works fine. Motion sensing switches are perfect for closets: no need to search for an manual switch -- the light comes on automatically when you open the door, and shuts off when the door closes. This is also helpful if you are remodeling an older home and do not want to snake more wire to add a manual switch on the wall. Just install the motion sensing switch near the light on the ceiling -- where the wire will already be located. Mark June 16, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Save some electricity! This switch will not turn on automatically whenever someone enters the room, but it will turn it off automatically. This is especially good when you have someone in your family that constantly forgets to turn off lights when they leave the room. It is versatile in that it can be wired either as a single pole switch or as a 3-way switch. It can control LED/CFL , Incandescent Bulbs, Ballasts, or ceiling fans. August 25, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Works great with LED bulbs! Over the past year with Home Depots assistance, we have been converting our house over to high efficiency LED lighting. The only drawback has been that conventional motion sensing light switches, that save energy by only providing light when there is an actual person in the room, don’t work well with CFL and LED lighting. This switch is the exception! I installed it in our bathroom, and it performs flawlessly with the LED fixtures and bulbs there. Installation was a breeze, just be certain to hook the neutral up correctly in order for the switch to work correctly January 6, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Well Designed Product 15 Amp 180-Degree Incandescent CFL-LED Vacancy Motion Detector White: this is a great product. I have a household of kids and teenagers and the basement lights are always being left on. Plus, some of the light switches are in inconvenient locations from the walking flow path. This sensor has a 180 degree view and yes it really is 180 degrees. The light switch is near the rear door and the moment I start to walk in the room it turns on. Installation is easy. I removed the old switch and put this switch in its place. However, this device has to have a ground wire to work. I imagine they are using that to get a micro current to power the electronics, but I don’t know for sure. My home is older so I had to add a ground wire. Lucky for me I have removable ceiling tiles and it wasn’t too hard. It is something to consider if you have an older home. It is easy to set the sensitivity of the switch. Just remove the front comer (be careful here) and there are adjustments as shown in the picture. They are light level and timer. I think this is a great product. It was easy to install and does a great job. February 24, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Solid motion sensor This is a good motion sensor control from Leviton. I replaced a single pole, standard Decora type switch in the half bath room. Install was straight forward and took about 10 minutes. The control has adjustments for sensitivity and and shut-off time which are accessed under the face plate. Note this control is manual on and auto off. So you'll have to hit the switch when you enter the room but it will turn off automatically when no motion is detected. I have it connected to a light over the sink that has CFL bulbs installed and don't have any issues. It works great and now no more yelling at the kids to turn off the light. September 27, 2015
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Well. Well this item was harder to find them expected. Had to go to three diff Home Depots to find it but did n Wks awesome. July 5, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A nice switch for the bathroom. The 180 degree incandescent-cfl-led vacancy motion detector is a nice addition to the bathroom. It will help the grandkids remember to turn off the bathroom light. It is automatic. A wired to the main lights in the bathroom which took about 10 minutes. This is a manual on sensor off switch. If you want the lights to come on automatically when you enter the room this switch is not the one you want. For my application it is perfect. June 28, 2016
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Manual on - Sensor Off Just a warning - this is a manual on and an auto shut off switch. I thought it was an auto on and off switch. This caused confusion when installing and testing. It does say it on the packaging which i didn't see so some is my fault. This online description doesn't say it. It was an easy standard install. If your wiring does not look like the instructions i would stop and call or hire an electrician. My install needed a line (hot) wire - a ground wire - a load wire - and a neutral wire. So pretty basic. You can also use this on a 3 way switch. Comes with 3 face plates (as pictured). I think they are white - ivory - and almond. Great for place where you often to forget to shut off lights. I id this in my attic cause my wife forgets to shut it off all the time. December 18, 2015
