Customer Questions & Answers

Can the quick connect be removed and the internal threads be used like a front connect spout?

Asked by: Robert
Pfister seems to be contradicting their previous answer. If by "quick connect" you are referring to the set-screw mechanism, the plastic "guts" can be unscrewed with some force, and there are threads in the front. I did successfully do this and screw it on to one fixture. On another fixture, though, I can't seem to screw it on far enough. There was some kind of "goo" left over after I removed the plastic set-screw apparatus, probably some pipe thread sealant. It might be blocking me from screwing on the 2nd one. I'm actually thinking of cutting off the thread end of my pipe and switch to the set-screw mechanism as it may be easier to deal with, and the threaded end on the copper pipe is preventing me from sliding on the new escutcheon (and sliding the old one off). Right now, I'm just trying to figure out what length of pipe should be left to support the set-screw mechanism, and whether the copper pipe will work. I do see some indications that it was made to go over iron pipe.

Pfister model 015-250A is it a "FIPS" or "MIPS"? 1/2" or 3/4" ? "ID" or "OD" ???

You post absolutely NO SPECIFICATIONS as to what fittings this product will attach to, or how. WHY?

Pfister model #015-250A is a quick connect decorative tub spout. This tub spout is designed to slip over the pipe and tighten with a set screw. However, the spout does have internal female threads which are 1/2" - 14 NPT Thread.

Customer Reviews

15 Series 5 in. Quick Connect Tub Spout in Brushed Nickel is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 6.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from nice match to my old one The item works well and was shipped relatively quick. My previous spout was a screw on with threads and this one does not. I needed to use a hacksaw to remove the copper threaded area in order to install. It would have been nice to know this. There were no instructions included either although it was self-explanatory.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect Part Except Instructions Everything was great about the part except that it did not come with any instructions on replacing the spout. I wound up doing it but it took a couple of minutes to figure out.
