Questions & Answers

Do these valves have a backflow device of some sort. Its for inspection

Asked by: Simon
It sounds like you are looking for an anti-siphon valve. If it is an anti-siphon valve you need, you would want to use Lawn Genie Model 54000 or L7034. However, if it is a PVB (Pressure Vacuum Breaker) that your local code requires, you may want to consider Toro model 53300 in conjunction with inline valves like this one – Lawn Genie Model 54048.

I am installing a gravity fed watering systems. The storage tank has about 3 ft of head (max pressure of ~1.2 PSI) Will this valve open and close just like it would if it were 30+ PSI?
Asked by: OldSurferDude
In order for this valve to open and close successfully, there must be constant water PSI at the valve with a minimum of 10 PSI or greater; however, the water flow can be anywhere from .25 to 30 GPM. In your case, a maximum pressure of 1.2 PSI will not suffice for a successful operation of the valve.

Customer Reviews

150 psi RJ In-Line Valve is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 10.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from replaced 2 twice each year The all plastic Lawn Genie electric valve has failed me 4 times, two locations they last one season this is the second season and they have failed again. Tested positive electrical signal but no valve response after sitting out the winter in boxes below grade and in an area where it does not freeze. I need to change product but can not find any reviews nor recommendations.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Electric Values Every year I have to replace 3 out of 5 electric valves. I would think Lawn Genie would address this problem or maybe they know they have a problem and know that you will be buying new electric valves WHAT DO YOU THINK?????!!!!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't waste your money Put in 12 of these on a system a few years back. Have had nothing but problems-bad solenoids, won't shut off, screw threads stripped out on the valve body, etc. Have two other systems on houses I own, NO ISSUES whatsoever. Lawn Genie valves on one, Hunter on the other. They've been in the ground about twice as long as these orbits. Will never use another orbit product as long as I live. It's just not quality stuff and it's not cheap enough to warrant even trying their junk.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Valve This is a great inline valve. I have 3 on my irrigation system. I bought this one to replace the upper end and diaphram on one of my existing valves. I sure wish Home Depot would stock this valve in the store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from " Just what I needed" These Valves saved the day. Due to the fact that these were exactly the valves that were in place , I was able to "change out" the inner parts of the valve as opposed to having to cut all the pvc in place in order to install all new valves. Everything works great, thanks to Home Depot for stocking these valves, even if it's only online.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great value for the $$!! I installed 11 of these valves into my sprinkler system in 1996 when I switched it from manual to automatic operation. They have functioned with minimal issue until recently where I have had to either repair or replace 1 or 2 of them. I highly recommend purchasing and using these valves! By the way, contrary to another post here, the Lawn Genie store sells these for twice the cost as HD!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very excellent product. Gave great service I installed a sprinkler system using these valve over ten years ago. I have been faithful in blowing out the lines every winter. This fall one valve failed to close when trying to blow the system clear. I purchased these valve to repair this valve.
