Answer:
This unit has a built-in variable speed switch. A separate wall switch is not needed, but if you want to wire it to a wall switch, you can. We recommend using a speed control, model 78W. If you use another manufacturers switch it should be rated for at least. 1.5 AMPs. If you have further questions, contact our Technical Support Department at 888-336-6151. Thank you.

Thank you for your questions on the Broan model 511. The fan has a built-in variable speed control. The fan operates at approximately 4 sones plus more due to the variable speek. The amount of air being removed is 121 - 200, again depending on the speed.
The model 511 is an 8" diameter sleeve. If you require a larger fan for this installation, you may want to review the Broan model 510 which is a 10"

Both of these fans can be purchased on HomeDepot.com. You asked if this can be covered and sealed off. YES, but you must be sure no one can turn it on. Just as the title states I'd like to wire this to a dimmer and make it variable speed. Moreover, Id like to wire 2 of these together to the same dimmer switch. Is this possible?

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 6 reviewers.
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Love it! Product color finish looks different than what was shown on-line. I loved the styling of this vanity, but the finish shown on HD website was a little too light. The product had only one customer review showing a picture of the actual product and it showed the finish to be a little darker than what the HD website. So I took a chance. I love it. Its a medium brown, with grayish stain on the edges with subtle white accents, giving it a chic weathered look. The vanity is well built and spacious. May 30, 2013
