Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by dghornock Cedar is a cheaper alternative to cypress. It doesn't have much of an odor at all. Doesn't wash away or
fall apart as quickly as others. The colored mulch is horrible. Stay away from that stuff. It became hard in our planting box here in DE. We removed all of that nasty stuff and replaced it with our old stand by: cedar. Our crape myrtle, asian jasmine, and needle palms perked back to health quickly.

Wellll the sku said ceder mulch. but when I got home what I had was a ceder blend that had no oder of ceder. The manager was no help, I am done with Home Depot. It was like the people that bagged the mulch had a large pile and said Ceder and that made it Ceder Blend.

Numerous large pieces 4" to 6" long. No consistancy and no cedar aroma. Not sure what this is made of but it certainly isn't like any cedar I have ever used before and the large pieces are definately not cedar.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Tj COLOR IS NOT CONSISTENT FROM BAG TO BAG!!!
First off let me state I've been mulching for a long time, so I know what I'm doing. I bought almost 100 bags of Timberline Cedar Mulch from Home Depot. The product itself, I believe, was a decent cedar mulch. Smelled like cedar and no big chunks of wood in the bags. The only problem, AND IT'S A BIG PROBLEM, is that in some of the bags the mulch was a natural wood color(no dye), and in some bags the mulch was a dyed brown. There is no "color" labeled on the bags, and all the bags came off the same pallet in Home Depot, so it wasn't a mistake on my part. I would say out of the 100 bags I bought about 1/3 were dyed brown while the other 2/3 were the natural color. I WON'T be buying this mulch again from Home Depot because there is absolutely no way of telling which bags were which color. They all look the same in the plastic. This IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE! How does Home Depot allow this??? Last time I buy mulch from the incompetent Home Depot again!!!!!!!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Rick Is this REALLY cedar
Purchased approximately 60 bags over the past 2 months and am VERY disappointed to say the least. Bags contained large strips of wood, some 5+ inches long. Found some strips that appear to be other than cedar(painted framing wood). There isn't the faintest smell of cedar in any of the bags. I should have read the product reviews before I purchased the product. Needless to say, I will not be buying any more mulch from Home Depot

This is awesome cedar mulch! It smells wonderful, and it has that beautiful NATURAL cedar color!!! Moreover, it has significantly reduced the insects around the outside of my home! I am glad that I can buy this cedar mulch at HD!!! I won't use anything else!
Excellent quality mulch!!!
Totally worth the (minimal) extra money per bag---it beats that everyday average brown mulch, or cypress mulch hands down! Forget the colored mulch too!
Natural cedar all the way!!!
I bought 100 bags, and I plan to buy 25 more for this season! I ordered it all on-line and it was such a breeze, my orders we ready in less than an hour---An excellent buying experience!
The brand is Timberline out of Atlanta Ga.
I hope HD will continue to carry this brand of cedar mulch, or a comparable quality as I will be buying more and more every year to maintain my mulched areas with CEDAR mulch!!!

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by bobf NOT THE PRODUCT HD SOLD LAST YEAR
This product, although the same bag appearance, is not what I have gotten for the past three years. Bought 150 bags yesterday -- barely any aroma which tells me its barely any cedar; bags also contained some sand; much more shredded that previously which means it won't last as long. HD gave me $100 back but I won't be buying any more mulch from HD.

Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by gardenqueen not the cedar chips they had last year
this cedar mulch is shredded and not the chips. It does not smell or look like cedar after it dries. I don't believe it is really cedar. Last year they had real cedar chip mulch that lasted beautifully through the winter and looks like new. I would not buy this 2015 brand cedar mulch again.
