How should I connect pvc conduit to the "range wire" hole? Since I didn't use romex for the main power source to the wall, I've run conduit with three 12-AWG wires in the walls to feed power. I used 3/4" PVC conduit. How should I connect the conduit to the range wire hole on the side of this box?
Asked by: DougS
You would have to make your own knock out either on the back of the box or the side. The existing hole/clamp is only for romex or SO cord. You can't really use this box with the pvc since it's adjustable and the pvc would restrict movement. Use a deep 4" square metal box with a bracket. These boxes are primarily for use in bathrooms and kitchens where you have variable thickness in the backsplash or and tile for example.

Can this be used for exterior walls?
Asked by: Chris
This box is suitable for use on exterior walls as long as it is attached to a stud inside and if local codes allow. It cannot be surface mounted outside. Before using please check local codes to ensure there are no restrictions on the types of boxes your can use in your area.

Is there a coverplate for this box when used for a range receptical?

Installed box, can't find coverplate for range that lines up
Asked by: Leroy
We do not have a cover plate in our line that will fit this application. Might want to check another vendor such as Pass & Seymour that has covers for this application - SKU 202313808.

2-Gang 34 cu. in. Adjustable Electrical Box with Side Clamp is rated 3.7 out of 5 by 7.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Labor saving. Fit easily into a tight location. Back knockouts allowed me to use two different circuits in the same box. I used a hole in the dry wall to relocate two outlets to a better location.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love adjustability Purchased a dozen of these for a kitchen remodel and love them. The fact you can adjust their depth sold me on them. You can even swap out different sizes boxes without having to remove the mounting bracket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great solution if you know how to use them. I'm a Redbeacon electrical contractor and use these all the time. I have never had a the threads in the box "melt". They work great if you are careful with them. The adjustable feature makes this the "go to" box for all kitchen work. You don't have to try and install them at a specific distance and it doesn't matter what the homeowner decides to put on the backsplash, you will have no gaps (or failed inspections) with these boxes. Be sure and tell the tile guys to not cover the edges of these boxes or it will defeat the purpose.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A good product after some difficulty and excellent product support. I initially had a problem with the clamp holding a stove wire that was pretty massive. The wire needs to be supported correctly before sending it into the clamp of this box. The clamp of mine seemed to break easily but the item was replaced by the manufacturer after I contacted them. After installing three more of these I didn't notice the issue if I supported the wire first before sending it into the box. The manufacturer genuinely wanted to understand and fix my problem and I appreciated that. I would rate this 5 stars if the clamp can some day be upgraded. But overall a good product and customer support that cares.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good problem solver; plastic melts around adjustment screw I'm re-wiring my old house which has thick plaster walls. I'm only cutting the walls where I need to and these boxes are the only ones I could find as new work boxes that can work with such thick walls (nearly 1"). The plastic melts around the adjuster screws, at first I thought it was me who was doing it but a good 50% of them came from the store melted out. I'm sure it happens at the factory when they are being assembled with pneumatic screw drivers. All in all a good solution but as that plastic melts it makes the box a little shaky. I'm sure once the walls are put up they will be plenty secure for their duty.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from adjustable gang box is the only way to go! Easy to work with and nice to not worry about having to install at the perfect depth to accommodate for drywall. Adjustable is definitely a must have for kitchen installs when the backsplash thickness is still unknown. Took one star off because I wish the plastic was more rigid and did not flex or warp in the middle.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not worth the money The adjustment screw is very easy to strip. Take a closer look when you buy. Feels flimsy compared to 20 yrs old box that was replaced. Thought many times about ripping it out, but hate doing the rework.
