Customer Reviews

2-Gang Switch/GFCI Weatherproof Cover is rated 3.4 out of 5 by 5.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from 2 gang switch cover The cover is a little tricky to put together when used with a 2 gang outdoor box. The trick is to put the gasket on the back of the cover then attach the switch to the back of the cover using the two spacers and screws that come with the cover. The switch must have the mounting ears removed also, then the wires can be attached to the switch. Then the trick is to turn the plate at an angle to allow the switch to fit between the top and bottom edges inside the box to get passed them. Once that's done straighten it up and mount the cover with the four remaining mounting screws.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Finally figured it out It took hours of cursing and research but I finally found the 04/02/2013 review by Villian. Thanks for the tip, Villian. I had to hacksaw the ears off my switch. It didn't have the usual perforation. If you carefully, and I mean carefully, look at the diagram that came with the cover, you will see the where the two brass spacers and long screws go. One additional comment: My circuit is protected by a GFI breaker in the load center. This cover will not accept a standard outlet. Only a GFI outlet can be used since the necessary "nuts" that hold the outlet are built into the GFI outlet. So I am unnecessarily doubly protected. Too bad RedDot/Home Depot don't have a model with a switch and standard outlet.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Terrible design.. This outdoor cover looks like an easy install, but boy was I wrong. The engineers who designed this should be ashamed. No where on the label does it say you need to modify the separately bought switch. You have to cut off the bunny ears and I had to cut the actual switch part that goes up/down in half and it still doesn't operate smoothly. Red dot should manufactor their own proprietary switch for use with this cover.. Buy this and you will understand what I'm talkin about, lol. At least the outlet portion of it works, kinda hard to screw that design up..

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Did not fit switch. The switch cover did not fit on top of the switch. When screwed down tight the light switch would not work. I purchased a different kind (at Home Depot) and it fit perfect.
