What is this foam made out of? My toddler was playing with a new one and broke out in a rash. Are they latex foam?

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by EASY For a fast or small one time project where you do not want to have to get out the good brush and then clean it, these are great. Use it, throw it. Wish they were a tad cheaper. September 13, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Zero Cleanup Required I use these brushes for all my poly and stain applications. It's so nice not to bother with cleanup when applying anything oil-based! Plus, they wash out much more quickly than a bristle brush if you're using a water based paint/primer/poly. I've never had any issue with these brushes leaving bits of foam behind in whatever I'm applying either. The reason I took a star off is because the brushes do need a little more internal support when applying thick materials like pond liner epoxy. I found that I needed to brace the back of the brush with a gloved finger during my last project, after the foam had become saturated and heavy. July 3, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by You Get What You Pay For This brush does a decent enough job for $0.50. It works well at first, but by the end of my project I was starting to see little foam bits in the paint. If you push down too hard on it, the plastic support piece in the middle of the foam starts to rip the foam and poke through. Just be gentle with it, clean it well after using it, and pull off any fuzz/paint bits before each use (and occasionally while using it if you use if for a long period of time). For the price, just buy a few and change them out when they fall apart. June 3, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect for paint sample application I've bought several of these 2 inch flat foam brushes to use when applying paint samples, and they work perfectly for that purpose. Obviously, I don't recommend using these to paint a fully room (duh!), but for small touch-up or craft jobs and for paint sample application, they're an awesome economical choice. February 8, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Little Foam Miracles I really wish I would have used a foam brush when I started refinishing my cabinets. I was a big believer in the expensive, natural bristle brushes like Purdys, etc. After applying the paint and one coat of ploy with bristles, I switched over to a .77-cent foam brush for the final coat of satin Minwax. It was LIKE GLASS. Why had I wasted my time cleaning with mineral spirits, soap and water only to buy more brushes?! These foam miracles deserve more credit. The only tip worth sharing is to keep your dipping on the light side.. the amount of liquid a foam brush holds is far more than a bristle brush- helps to avoid drips. Best part about this product? If the application is water-based, wash it in .2 seconds under a warm faucet, dry it out and it's good as new! If it's oil-based - throw em' out after each coat without feeling like you've killed a horse tail. July 30, 2012
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by You get what you pay for I bought a few of these foam brushes to paint small color sample swatches on the drywall in our house. I don't suggest using them on big projects, but, for small-purpose/rough tasks, they're perfect. What's more, for $0.72 each, they're way more cost-effective than buying even the cheapest of paintbrushes. April 2, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Could be better I purchased these applicators to apply polyurethane on some hardwood floors that we stained (bought 2" brushes by mistake). The plastic 'handle' inside was a little flimsy, causing the applicator part to bend too much. December 4, 2012
