When the package is opened the adhesive begins to react with any moisture. The adhesive will harden quickly and be useable in a short time.

Is this product strong enough to fix a tear in an AL pole that holds a patio umbrella ?
Asked by: HomeownerGuy1
It might work. Remember that the repair will increase the diameter of the pole preventing anything (like the umbrella closing parts) from operating as intended. Be sure to roughen the surface with the included sandpaper to improve adhesion. An alternative fix would be to cut the damaged section out and insert a section of tubing into the pole spanning the break.

I did not want to buy a whole new umbrella, and so I figured spending less than $10 on this product was worth a shot. Not only was it SUPER easy to apply, but it has recreated the bond as strong as metal, and I can use my umbrella again!

Would work great for fixing a broken shovel handle, etc.., however I was trying to fix a leak in a galvanized pipe that was leaking. Ended up having to call a plumber to fix it. So I purchased the FiberFix and it didn't work as water leaked out the sides. FiberFix sent me another and I covered again. It then leaked out the center. The plumber told me that he tried it and it didn't work for him either however both of us thought it would be a great product for a hard surfaced item such as putting together a wood or metal handle, etc. and I would purchase it for that type of use. The people at FiberFix were trying their best to help and would recommend to them that they take off the use for a leaking pipe as not only myself but a master plumber have found it just doesn't work.

Kit is complete including gloves and a small piece of sandpaper to prepare the surface. Instructions are sparce and the website is an ad - not more detailed instructions. So far the repair is holding. The material sets up fairly quickly so have everything ready before opening the package. Once it is opened all of it must be used.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Strong fix so far. I cut the wrap in half and used in on badly bent lawnmower handle. One side of handle was actually torn in half. I used some quicksilver to rejoin the broken side and wrapped both side with this product. So far so good. I have used the mower several times since.
