Answer:
No, a 2" will not fit a 3" water line, you need a 3" cover.

My sub pump is outside in a like a 7 ft. well in front of my house. In one spot on my PVC line it always freezes solid and have to take it apart and defrost. Looking for some type of insulation to put over my PVC line. Any ideas.

Answer:
Hi L21759,
This pipe insulation is for copper pipe. To use it on your abs pipe you will have to use the 3 inch size.
Or use a wrap type of insulation.

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

Rated 2.3 out of 5 by 7 reviewers.
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Easy way to insulate pipes I like the fact that you cna cut this easiy to fit and it doesn't fall apart on you. Sometiimes the self stick adhesive does hold up and needs to be sealed with duck tape. April 19, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by steam heat boston As soon as the heat kicked on all of the glue seams came apart. HD doesn't sell the the tape to resecure them. October 31, 2015
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Works but not all that pretty I wanted this more to cover an eye sore than anything else. Our office is in an old building with radiators. We had a 2" pipe going from floor to ceiling that had pealing paint. I didn't want to have to scrape and paint it since it was heating season and the pipe gets hot when the radiator is on. Plus I figured the new paint would just peal too. The pipe cover served this purpose but the paper cover is not really securely attached to the fiberglass and the seal for the paper wrapper is not that easy to use once the sleeve is on a pipe. Looks better than the pipe but it could look better. December 10, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Bad glue Glue strips all came loose after a few days. Lots of fiberglass to clean up after use. Good dense insulation. January 20, 2015
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Only OK. This insulation is OK but other brands (knaupf, owens corning) are better quality. In particular, the Frost King products use a single adhesive strip to hold the insulation closed. The other brands use a two-part adhesive strip that offers a much stronger and more permanent seal. Also, at my local independent plumbing/heating supply house, the other brands are less $$$ than this product is at the Depot. February 2, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by the product could be better if self sealing work. i installed 10 fiberglass recently but the self sealing came off after day or two. i would not buy the product again and it is expensive and sealing is not working well. April 15, 2014
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Fits like a glove but does not stay sealed! Just like the previous review says, it stays on great but the next day, the seal is unglued. Make sure you use separate tape to glue them shut or you will be very disappointed.. March 4, 2014
