Since when could you call a 2x4 that couldn't be used as a wall upright, a stud? Com'on HD, the dictionary defines "stud" as the upright member of a building wall, which means in the U.S. = 92-5/8". Not 84", not 103", although you can get away with 103 since you can cut it down to 92-5/8. Just 5 years ago, you never saw any building supplier call a 2x4 a stud unless it was at least 92-5/8. Which also "begs the question", why do you sell 84" 2x4s?
