I sold my new Delta Unisaw which operated on 220v using this type plug. I just bought a Rigid R4512 table saw at HD to replace the Unisaw. I followed Rigid's instructions and changed the voltage on the new saw to 220. Now I need some help wiring this plug. I know the green wire is ground and connects to the green terminal, but which terminals do the black and white wires belong to??? Thanks! Gary

Answer:
Either one as the line voltage on either is 110v. This plug is only for 3 wire installations, if you have 4 wire the white would be a nuetral and the red and black would be the line wires

Answer:
No. Check to see if outlet in wall is 220v or 110v. Also check AC unit to be sure it is 220V. This special shape is so you cannot confuse one with the other. If you are not crystal clear what you have please contact a professional. 110v or 220v electricity is very dangerous and not to be experimented with.

Thank you for your inquiry. This plug is not intended to be used as an adapter. This plug should only be used with a receptacle or connector with a matching NEMA configuration.

Answer:
This is not an adapter but rather a three prong 220v plug that is to be wired onto a cord. The AC unit should have a plug on it that is configured for it. Do not use a 110v plug and try to use it for 220v. You should have the unit checked out by a licensed electrician before making any changes so that you do not cause a fire or destroy your AC unit.

Hello this is Tangelo from the Home Depot Community!
No it will not, you need to contact a Licensed Electrician and have them modify the outlet to work on 110, otherwise you can fry A/C and cause a fire.
