Can this filter be adhered to air vent outlets, at the point that the vent blows air into the room? Can it also be used on the intake?

Answer:
I think so. Its just a carbon coated foam that you attach to the plastic grid frame using tie wraps that are in the package. You can trim it to any size using some snips. If you put it inside a supply register, it should be blown against the slots of the register to support it. The carbon filter did a great job of soaking up smells from smoke that escaped from our fireplace.

Customer Reviews

Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 28 reviewers.
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Less expensive, less effective Less effective than the expensive brand, but only half the price. Cutting through the plastic was hard on my hands, and poking holes in the filter for the clips was a little dangerous. Because it doesn't have the "box" edges like regular filters, I had to tape the edge to keep air from being sucked in from the furnace room instead of from the ductwork. My problem here is with perfumes being used in one room and spreading through the ducts to other rooms, and this filter didn't stop as much of it as the 2-month old brand-name filter I replaced. But it was still MUCH better than a regular filter, and much cheaper than the brand-name odor filters. August 30, 2016

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Life Changing Filter -- A must Amazing filter. Easy cut to fit. Slide over your existing filter or better yet, a new one. Change your quality of life! August 24, 2016
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent option for hard to find air filter sizes I needed a 12x24 air filter and went to 4 different stores and no one carried the size I needed. I purchased this and easily cut it to fit. I was able to use the excess in a table top filter unit. I rated 4 because I just installed it. I may update my rating after 30 days. August 23, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by SALLYC Does great with cleaning the air great for pet ownerd July 3, 2016
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good cut to Size Furnace Filter especially if you get two out of the pack! I was having a hard time finding a 12''x 12'' furnace cold air return filter until a nice Sales Lady from my local Home Depot suggested this filter (WebAbsorber 20 in. x 25 in. x 1 in. Odor Control FPR 5 Air Filter) so I could make mine to size. I was able to cut two of them at the size of 12'' by 12'' and that made it a good value. If I had not been able to cut two I would have felt that the filter was a little high priced for my application. This filter has a good filter medium and an easily sizable plastic grid. I will buy another one next time because they work for me. May 13, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good Heater/AC filter My HVAC was installed in such a way that it needs a 2 piece filter so I use this one so that I can cut it to fit. It does a good job and is easy to install. January 12, 2016
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not for forest fire smoke Well, being the only charcoal filter within 100 miles, I decided to give it a try. Being the middle of forest fire smoke for over three weeks, we need some air in the house. So I rigged up the filters on my air exchange system and turned it on. Smokey air. So I added a second filter on top of the first. Turned it on the lowest fan setting and let it run for 20 minutes. Smokey air. There just is not enough charcoal in the filter to do the job. Back to the drawing board. I can get filters from Graingers, but you have to buy a case of them for over two hundred dollars. For some applications like in the other reviews they may work fine, but not for forest fire smoke. August 28, 2015
