Great way to save if you don't mind a bit of maintenance.
The filter needs to be cleaned once a month to keep it fresh and clean. It will last you a long time. Love it.

The filter probably does a good job filtering but it greatly restricts the air flow in the process. It looked as though the filter was being sucked into my air handler. I bought this one to replace one that was over 10 years old. I returned it to the store.

No problems cutting this down to size. It only took a few minutes with diagonal cutters and a box cutter. However, the plastic tabs that hold the frame in place stick up so that the frame is actually a little thicker than a regular disposable filter. My filter had to slide into a slot that did not provide much leeway, so it would not fit. Since I had already cut it to fit, I could not return it. I wound up gluing it with my hot glue gun and cutting off the tops of the connectors with a box cutter.

When my old cut-to-fit reusable filter gave out, I needed to replace it. After doing some research and shopping, I found this filter and Home Depot had the best local price on it. The filter is as described and made a good improvement to the airflow in my system. Unlike the old filter, the frame is sturdy so this one will not be sucked into the opening.

The filter fell apart after 2 months (2 washes)...the plastic frame separated which caused the filter material to get sucked into the air intake.

Fell apart after 2 washer. The filter material started to break down. Never used any chemical or high pressure to clean it. Was lucky I caught it as it was almost sucked up into my HVAC fan.
Will be using standard paper filters from now on. Easy to change, no hassle or cleaning and letting it dry. Just buy a pack, mark the month to change and go about your business.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kamzu Have three of these things :)
Just pulled these out after having used them for the not-recommended period of over 1 year and they were filthy! I had read the other reviews that stated that these don't filter the air well, but I can confirm that they do an excellent job. Aside from the dirty filters, there was some dirt and grime on the edges, but I ran a finger inside the conduit and it came up absolutely spotless, not s single smudge of dust. Would highly recommend the product, currently air drying after hosing them down. :)
